Re: Wendysgoodnews 1st day to Weight Loss
From what I can tell the Red Book gives a wide variety of recipes and foods Roger suggests we can eat. I guess my confusion has come from recent posts compared to what Roger wrote in the Red Book. Roger, who found a Godly way to eat, wrote this book to bring all of us to a healthier, thinner place
I mostly concentrate on alot of fruit and bean soups and all my recipes are either from the book or on the LDL website.
I read in chapter 8 in the Red book alot of things to keep on the shelves (Our Grocery list) and in the condiments it has ff mayo, coolwhip and in another area ff cheeses. I eat mayo seldom and when I use it I use only a dab, coolwhip was at christmas only and the cheese is used sparingly. Like this morning I had refried beans with thin reg. chedder cheese slices and eggs. I don't have a problem with eggs so I eat them. When talking to my doctor and telling her what I eat on this diet she was concerned about all the fruit and beans but thought in all everything else was fine.
Before coming to LDL I was eating so unhealthy I was ruining my life so I know that eating LDL is a life saver to me. I feel more healthy then I have in years and the weight is falling off.
In chapter 7 it gives a 14 day meal plan and it has from ff cottage cheese to ff cheese.
In chapter 2 Roger talks about when not very hungry he would eat wasa crackers or corn thins with ff cheese slices or tuna salad made with just enough ff mayo to hold it together. Roger ate large amounts of food and still lost his weight even in the beginning.
I see you eat lots and lots of veggies which is a great idea but I have never liked veggies much so my list is cabbage, onions, celery, lettuce and mushrooms(cooked only). I eat them often in stirfries and lots of them in soups to make sure I get my veggies everyday. When I look at my journal I see a healthy way of eating that I can live with and lose weight along the way.
The purpose of the journals is to be able to see what is being ate daily and staying accountable with LDL foods and not straying over into the old ways of eating. It has been one of the most important parts of my journey and I put down exactly what I eat. What would be the purpose of doing a journal if I only put down what I think others want to see according to how they are working their plan. If I fall off the plan one day and I am afraid to write down what I ate or I lied and said I did great what good was served in that. I try to be very honest with myself on this plan and others so I would feel like I was lying if I were to fix my journal to satisfy everyone else. I am on this plan for me because I needed to get healthy and lose weight and I will work the plan according to how Roger wrote it in the book and what worked for him and others that have and are succeeding.
My understanding of this program is for all of us as individuals to find what works best for us in staying true to the program. We are to eat until we are full of foods we like because if we try to eat a bunch of food we hate we will fail just like all the other times.
I am proud of you for what you are doing in your life and for your family. It looks like it is working wornderfully. I am also very excited how the program is working for Mike and I and if we find we are at a stand still or we start feeling we are doing something not according to the book we will certainly find a way of changing to make the right choices for us.

Re: Wendysgoodnews 1st day to Weight Loss
My feet used to swell terrible when I was eating junk and chips and that sort of thing. Since I have been on LDL and it has removed the toxins in my body my feet and ankles are the skinniest things on me.lol I have always had thin ankles and the bottom half of my legs it is just the rest of me that got out of control.

Re: Wendysgoodnews 1st day to Weight Loss
Another beautiful day of sunshine and more warmth. I am packing and praying and getting ready to go for my knee surgery tomorrow. My wonderful husband will stay with me the first night and then drive in from Missoula to work Wednesday morning. I hope everyone is having a blessed Monday and have their LDL meal plans for the week. I had decided not to do the soup and fruit flush today since the rest of the week I will be mostly on fruit since I do not plan on going off the plan just because I am in the hospital. I plan on taking popcorn and fruit and then will pick through their menu and eat what I can.
B: Orange, banana, watermelon Smoothie

Re: Wendysgoodnews 1st day to Weight Loss
I like what you journal in your thoughts about LDL, the book and how it works for you. I even like the kinds of foods you seem to be eating! I just found Wendy's Southwest Chili Salad with a friend the other day and boy was it good! I have had it twice for lunch now! I do love vegetables but enjoy them more in soups. I also love fruit but love them in smoothies more! Well, just wanted to comment on how interesting your journaling is and how positive it seems to be going for you!
Best of luck with your surgeries. My father had both knees done and wished he had done them sooner!
Take care and best of everything.
Also, your pictures of your little dogs are so cute! I just lost my beloved dog a few months ago and am waiting to get another puppy!
