Once I lost aout 40lbs I was determined to never find them again. I have struggled all my life with yoyo dieting and with all the scientific evidence on this Way of Living that I know it is the healthiest way to get to an energetic old age. I am here for life!

Have not bee posting my my journal for a while because of eating a few things off plan, I gained nearly 10 lbs.
Back on LDL pure beginning of March.
Then hit with ear infection. One week of thinking it would get better but it was getting worse, facial paralysis of Bell's Palsy set in.
Finally went to the doc who put me on Augementin (an antibiotic notorious for causing diarrhea).
Figured diarrhea would help shed excess lbs, but wouldn't you know it, I got constipated.
After a week on antibiotics and prednisone, my stomach was "tore up" and I could not eat at all.
Well 6 days and I have lost 10lbs so now I am 1lb lower than my lowest weight so far.
Not a recommended way to loose, but it is what it is.
Hopefully I won't gain too much when I can eat again.

LInda,
So sorry to hear that you're feeling bad. I hope that you're on the mend very soon. It wouldn't be the same on these boards without you're encouragement or advice.

Son had it when he was 15 and all symptoms resolved in 2 weeks.
Not to say that I am old or anything but it has been 11 days since the paralysis and I still have to patch the eye and smile lopsided.
It has been 2 1/2 weeks of ear pain that is unbelievable.
I was thinking Shingles lasted usually 2 weeks. Guess it can go on longer.
No way to know for sure if it is shingles, but the pain is consistent with what I have heard described.
But on the bright side, as of tonight I have not only lost the 9lbs I gained, I am 3 lbs below my lowest weight so far.
Official weigh-in in the morning

Linda, I am praying for your recovery.  I hear Shingles  are so painful.  The weight loss is the only good side effect, but I know you would like to feel better.  *love* and prayers, JF
