Re: Jennie's Journal

Jennie, I am not sure if this is what is happening to you but what I find is that every third or fourth day is the time I seem to need more, feeling like I need to eat even when I am not hungry.  I don't know why or if it is habit or a nervousness or a change taking place in my body.  Every time I get past this, later on I find that I have lost weight or inches or simply some reshaping of my body which is awesome!  Maybe it will help if you know that this may happen to you that you will find more motivation to push on.  I stay on LDL now and do not allow myself the once a week break for other foods as I am so determined to get to my goal and I don't allow myself to eat food just because I may feel the need to eat it.  For some reason it may be difficult to fight but this is a good fight and one worth fighting for "yourself".  Once you see the changes you may find that non-LDL foods are not an option nor a desire.  Please know that I am not saying to beat yourself up over eating something non-LDL, actually I am saying enjoy life and lots of LDL foods and the miracle takes place without you doing anything except for the LDL food.  I have never been so happy to feel like I feel and be where I am and that wouldn't be happening right now without LDL.  My DH really helps me and he eats mainly LDL too.  He has lost more than me at a 23 lb loss until my 2 lb loss the other day.  I am to the point that I can bake homemade bread for him without eating it as I know that it is much better than store bought and he has a stash of foods (cookies, etc.) that he eats when I am out of the room.  I was so surprised the other day as I sat with him while he ate something that I would have had a difficult time with (I would know what he was eating by the sound of the opening of the bag if I was anywhere near him even in the other room. LOL), it did not bother me, which surprised him too.  I think it is that I am having such success and feeling so great that I don't want to change a thing I am doing and LDL is my life!  I am praying for you and let God be your strength, he is mine and has helped me to be where I am today.   Sometimes you just gotta say "Ok God I can't do this without you and I need you and your strength so please help me with this".  Talk about power and Love!   *love*

Very well said, MLFH.
Guess you just have to go on sheer determination until the loss is significant enough that it becomes easy to turn away from foods that used to tempt you. But the elation and joy to be smaller than you have been in years is sooo worth it.
Even Sicilian Mama said she would have feeding frenzie days. Just stick to LDL foods and it does pass. And if you don't and give in to non-LDL foods start again fresh the next day. If the breakdown causes the cravings to come back you may need a fruit and soup flush after one of "those" days.

Well LindaRN and MLFH - you are amazing! Thank you for the inspiring words. I wish I could be so strong. I have to start praying more. I was so weak again yesterday.  I did good all day and I wanted chocolate. I had a bad day and I am such an emotional eater.  MY husband went and bought me chocolate and although I didn't think I ate much of it, I got so sick - so that was a good thing because I really don't want chocolate ever again, at least for today.  My daughter is doing really well and has not gone off like me. I am going to pray to do well today.
Breakfast: refried beans, eggs

LOL, Jennie your DH guess was funny and a good one for this forum!  If you ever see me put "dmil", I'm referring to dear mother-in-law (who spends the winter with us in FL).

LOL! I know but I kept wondering how everyone can get their husbands to be "dieting husbands!"  Oh well.  I am mad that my weight is not budging.  I am going to try eating just fruit for breakfast and see what happens.

The secret to dieting husbands is feed them what you eat and allow them a little extra if they need it.  Also, ask them to help you.  My husband has enjoyed the LDL foods and is down 22 lbs without trying.

Keep up with the LDL eating and if you don't lose pounds you will see inches lost as your body melts away!  I can't believe the changes I am seeing in my own body and you will be amazed too!

Hang in there Jennie,
Last summer I was loosing great eating watermelon for supper 3-4 days a week. Then it just stopped.
I am thinking that we need to rotate what we are eating just as you have to change up your exercise routine.
I am ready to join RT and CQ in baked potato lunch.
As far as the husband issue. I got it easy.......Let's Do Lunch was HIS idea!

Well I broke a tooth yesterday and am in a lot of pain today so probably won't eat much. Maybe this is what I need to give me a jumpstart.
Breakfast: eggs and refried beans
lunch: applesauce, smooshed banana
dinner:  didn't bring anything else to work so probably nothing

So sorry about your tooth Jencita! Ouch! *woot*

When you can finally eat make sure you go back to soft approved LDL foods like soups, SF jello, etc. No regular  puddings and ice creams!  *evil*

Hope you feel better soon!

Linda watch that baked pototoe. I ate that topped with beans or peas and gained weight for the first time in a long time this week. Not for me, only once in a while allowed for me.

Will keep a close watch.

Aww thanks Sweet Rose. I ended up eating ice cream yesterday - the only soft food I could find nearby.  I didn't gain waeight though. Thankfully.  I really want to add baked potatoes but I think I will wait to see if Roger loses.

Cameron,
My daughter is doing well after her spinal surgery but it has sent her OCD (Obsessive-Compusive Disorder) skyrocketing! Please pray for her.  She is so miserable. We started her on Prozac but haven't seen  a difference.  I wish I could find a good therapist to work with her but have had way too many bad experiences so I am relying on medicine and prayer!!

jencita,

There have been a number of studies that have shown that patients with OCD, AHDD, Bipolar and MDD have a lower level of Omega-3 in their diet. A lot of psych hospitals are starting to implement the supplement along with their regular medications and are showing promising results. They are also adding a Vitamin B Complex and Vitamin D3 to the regimen.

If your daughter doesn't like eating fish, maybe she won't mind taking Krill Oil. It contains the highest quality of omega-3 on the market. Yes, some of them will repeat (and it's not a pleasant taste) but there are some really good ones out there that don't.

By the way, if she's allergic to shellfish and/or Iodine, do not give it to her.

Well, weird about the pototo Linda, but good for you. I probably should have left the beans off mine. Haven't lost that pound yet and was very careful yesterday.  Before when I would have one now and then I didn't put anything on it but alittle salt and pepper and no gain from that. So maybe it was the beans on top. Well, I won't be happy until that pound is gone. Someday we WILL reach goal.  :rose:
