Re: Jennie's Journal
Thanks all for the encouragement! You are giving me the mindset that I need!! I overate yesterday - but I overate on LDL foods so that is probably a good thing. Not hungry at all this morning. This is a good learning lesson for me. Once I am back on LDL full strength - never, never go off - it is just way too difficult to get back on track!! I know that once I can stay pure LDL for about a week, my cravings will go away and I will start being satisfied on less food! It is just getting that one week in without sliding. I made blueberry muffins yesterday for the kids and didnt slide (eating a whole LDL blueberry pie helped!) Tuesdays and Thursdays I won't have too much difficulty because I am at work from 7am to 11pm so I am not around foods to tempt me. The other days are the challenges because I am home.
Todays plan:
Breakfast: refried beans, eggs
lunch: black bean and pumpkin chili, banana
dinner: black bean and pumpkin chili, apple
easier to bring one container of black bean and pumpkin chili and eat for both lunch and dinner at work so I know not much variety today but will get more variety on other days.

Re: Jennie's Journal
Excellent!
I am doing the same thing, eating a lot of LDL foods to help get it set for me too. You are so right about not wanting to eat non-LDL, it is difficult to get the mindset and food going but once we do it is absolutely awesome! Today is day 4 of all LDL only and when I feel this great I never ever want to be non-LDL ever!!! My problem is home too, and when I eat at the office I eat more like you with sometimes taking 2 smoothies and keeping a stash of some corn thins and raisins for emergencies until I get home. At home I make sure I get lots of variety so I don't want anything else and to curb cravings.
You are doing so well! Keep up the good work!

Re: Jennie's Journal
Thank all! I am happy to report that I am stuffed! I was so full yesterday that I felt nauseous at one point - I better stop eating so much. Yesterday I ended up going to Chipotle so this is what I ate
Breakfast: 3 egg omelet with mushrooms, green peppers, and onions
Snack: popcorn, yes I was still hungry even with the omelet
Lunch: Chicken burrito bowl
dinner: banana, prunes
Today: Woke up stuffed
breakfast: banana - not sure what else I will eat today since so full, nothing sounds good
I weighed myself this monring - lost 2 pounds of the 5 pounds I gained - 3 more to go!

Re: Jennie's Journal
I just have so much support from all of you but just can't do it. I was able to deny myself cupcakes yesterday and today I came home and ate ate least 10 mini cupcakes and now I am eating snicker bars. I have a serious addiction to sweets. I might as well throw the towel in and resign myself to being fat forever : )

Re: Jennie's Journal
NO! NO! NO! DON'T THROW IN THE TOWEL!!
You have got to get those cravings for bad sweets out of your system. I was really having bad cravings when I first started LDL. Everytime I wanted that cookie or snickers bar, I reached for fruit instead. I ate tons of sweet grapes, berries, and bananas. It worked. After about 3 weeks, the bad sweets did not appeal to me at all. Now I look at candy bars and laugh. I'm so happy I broke that addiction....and yes it is an addiction just like nicotine or alcohol.
Please don't quit LDL. Hang in there. We are all praying for you. *hug*

Re: Jennie's Journal
Oh Jennie, if I could give you a hug I would. Feeling like a failure sucks! I'm here to tell you that you are not a failure!!! I've done the same thing as you. Last week, these klondike bars called my name for 2 days until I finally ate one to shut it up.
See. You're not alone.
Besides I know you have had success here. I see where you have received some
. Focus on that instead of the setbacks. If you're an emotional eater like I am than I hope you hang in here for the support you will continue to get.
Do you like frozen grapes? If you can, stock up on some for your freezer and eat, eat, eat them to help take away cravings for sweets. Too cold for that? What sweet fruits do you like? These are what will help with sweet cravings. You will be amazed.
I see Ollie posted before I finished this. Like her, I hope you stay and I will keep you in my prayers.

Make yourself a recipe of pumpkin smoothie. It can be heated one cup at a time. It's better than pumpkin pie. I bet if you have 2-3 cups of this, you'll have no desire for cupcakes or candy. You can do this young lady. Prove to that little craving monster inside you that you are the boss!!!!!!! Pam

Re: Jennie's Journal
Hi Jennie, you are not a failure! Look at how much better you are doing than if you were not on LDL at all. You have lost weight. You are learning to eat much better for yourself and setting an example for your family and all those around you. You need to work on your sweets addiction. (I know I have been there too and will occasionally have the same problem.) I have done the very same thing and am trying hard not to give in at times. As long as I eat and keep myself full on LDL foods I do well. If I get busy and hungry and allow my mind to think about something I lose all control if only for a brief moment. Give yourself a big hug for me *hug* and continue on knowing that you are getting better each day and you are improving and doing better than if you were not doing LDL. In time we both will change and seeing all the successful LDL'ers helps us know success will come in time. This sent with prayers and love. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Sometimes I pray God you gotta help me, I can't do this without you and he always comes through.

Re: Jennie's Journal
Definitely do not throw in the towel. Forgive yourself for eating the sweets and start again. When I couldn't stop my cravings and gave in to them.... the next day, at least, I did a fruit/soup flush. Personally, I just can not have the stuff in the house. I sat down with my family and explained to them if it is here I will eat it ALL and they will not get anything anyway....except an overweight mother/wife. I think this woe is a marathon rather than a sprint so do not be too hard on yourself, you will be in skinnytown before you know it.
