Congratulations on being able to now fit into those smaller pants.  I am trying to get back into my size 8 pants.  I hope it won't take too long.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th.  We had a big BBQ at our home and it only sprinkled a little on us why we ate.  I had made LDL salads and baked beans so there was alot for me to eat also.  I did have a hot dog with no bun but other wise stayed true to LDL.  There were 4 different types of desserts and I was thrilled that they did not even tempt me.  I drank coffee while everyone was trying all the desserts and raving how good they were.  I felt sooo blessed to feel so good after I finished eating, not tired and bloated like I used to.

B:  Re-fried Beans with Eggs & Cheese
L:  Green Salad
D:  Hot dog no bun
    Baked Beans
    Sauerkraut Salad
    Cucumber Salad
    Hamburger Pattie no bun
    Corn on the Cob

Yes, yes, yes, Wendy!

That's the place to be! You feel victorious and successful instead of guilty and bloated. The choice was all YOURS........and I'll bet nobody thought you were being rude by passing up those desserts.

You are doing so awesome!

No one cared that I didn't eat the junk they all know I am losing weight and they are happy for me.  It really did feel empowering to know I don't have to eat like that and I won't feel deprived that I didn't fill up on sweets.

Wendy,

I made your cabbage lasagna today. Talk about delicious. I had some left over LDL Neets meatloaf. I crumbled some of the meatloaf into the lasagna before putting the spaghetti sauce on it. It tasted great and served as my protein for lunch today.

Got any more great recipes?

Blessings,
Ollie

Here is the Kraut salad from the boards, it is sooo delicious.
http://boards.letsdolunch.com/boards/in ... pic=8297.0

Here is the Cabbage Lasagna:
1/2 head of cabbage cut in long strips
1 lb Ex Lean burger
1 Jar of Spaghetti sauce or make your own
1/4 med. onion  chopped
2 Tbs minced garlic
1 stalk of celery chopped finely
Mixed shredded cheese ( to taste on top)

Brown burger, onions, celery & garlic.  When browned add sauce and stir.  Put cabbage in bottom of glass oven safe dish.  Add spaghetti sauce evenly over cabbage.  Sprinkle cheese on top and cover with foil.  Cook at 350 for 45 min.
I eat this with cottage cheese and mix as I am eating it.
This can actually be made with the cabbage and how ever you usually make your lasagna.  It is one of those dishes that the second day it is even better tasting.  I end up making it different all the time by what ever I have available for veggies I dump it in and brown with meat.

I also use raw cabbage strips and make spaghetti sauce.  I put the raw cabbage on my plate and put the sauce over top.  I then add cheese and melt for just a minute and eat.  Cabbage is always delicious raw or cooked.

Missdonna
I have my more or less hungry days.  When I eat one dish items it is always in large amounts and alot of times seconds.  I don't find my self hungry except sometimes in the morning because I try to wait until 10 am or after so by the time I eat I will feel some hunger pains.
I am sure you are doing fine.  Just remember to eat until full even if that means snacks in between meals.  You body will adjust to what it desires as time goes on.  You will find this way of eating can be adjusted to everyones body and works well for losing weight and getting our health back.

Oh no I am thru the first 2 goals I set for myself and now part way to the 3rd goal.  I still have alot to lose so will be getting there sometime next year is what I figure.  But whenever I get there is fine with me I love this way of eating.
Thank for the kind words.  I started this not liking to cook and now I have learned to love to cook and try new recipes.

I went to a restaurant here that had a smoked bbq dressing for salads that was wonderful.  I came home and figured out how to get pretty much the same taste for my salad today.

B:  Cherries & blueberries
L:  Taco Salad w/ smoked bbq dressing
D:  Blue Cheese & bbq chicken breast salad (we ended up eating out)
