Canned beans in tomato sauce are OK. Did the tomato sauce have sugar added?
I usually find the Generic Wal-Mart brand is no sugar.

Good for you, Lulu, for resolving to break your addiction to sugar.  You know that eating well will be good for your health.  I'm so sorry for all that you have had to go through, especially the fear for your life.  I am glad that you have found a good doctor and hospital.  We are are pulling for you and look forward to hearing that you are doing well on LDL and losing weight.  Hugs- Pam

Hi Cameron:  Actually it went not bad yesterday.. got a lot of fruit shopping done.. so that should help.. but cannot overdo although I do love the fruit and it is becoming much sweeter as we get into the season

Yesterday late breakfast/lunch

coffee with 2% mild and truvia
beans and low fat cottage cheese, cantaloupe

Supper
Shepard's pie with lean mined turkey, etc. .(I made it) corn etc and I baked a potato scooped it out and mashed it up with bit of juice from meat mixture and topped the pie with it... was good with cucs and tomatoes

in evening.. I know not good but a ff sf pudding..( I have to work out of this sugar addiction (not justifying just saying)

Today
coffee etc
strawberries and low fat cottage cheese
Shepard's pie with baked potato mashed on top

Don't know how Lulu65 makes her chicken burgers, but my husband and I love ground chicken.  I buy it all the time.  We think it tastes much better than ground turkey, and my husband is not much of a fan of beef anyway.  It is also much more reasonably priced than so many other meats in the stores.  I not only use it for chicken burgers (nothing added to the chicken burgers, just browned in a pan with a little oil), but I also use it for soups, spaghetti, tacos, sloppy joes.  Anything you put ground beef in, you can put ground chicken in.  We really like it.  Jerrie :)

Hey LuLu, you can still hang out with us!
Only thing different is the rice.
Just choose the least processed rice, do everything else LDL, and report back your findings!

It is official  I am on a low residue diet.. and i really find it difficult.. it limits so many really healthy foods and when facing chemo again next week
this is by no means LDL as beans are not allowed, lentils etc.. any fiber ( non soluble) is not allowed..
I was just beginning to really like LDL more as the potatoes are now allowed.. I will l admit I had given RT a really hard time over potatoes and other items but I do believe it will be more doable (for me at least with the potatoes) in this woe..I can have potatoes just not the skin or skin on any fruit, no berries, no salads, no broccoli, only certain veggies and nothing raw in veggies..

Thank you for your friendships here.. I will be back to post as I get more into this new way of eating..

Today

eggs (2) fried (non stick pan with spray)
white toast, 1 slice ff cheese

going out with dear daughter this afternoon to Ottawa for tulip festival and down near the famous Byward market area for supper.. this should be interesting.. she loves Thai and says well Mom I could eat Thai since you are allowed rice.. lol.. right!!!!..... so I sit and eat rice while you eat all that great food.. so this will be fun to see where we end up...

Have a great day everyone
