Breakfast: refried beans, eggs

Re: Jennie's Journal
Jencita, we come off strong....That's because we are trying to help in anyway. But truth some of us are very weak if we let our mind wonder and fall into the trap. So just keep your mind focused towards your goal. Yes you can do this!
For good luck next week.

Re: Jennie's Journal
Jennie: I can't recommend this from my own personal experience, yet. However, I am reading a book called "Think Yourself Thin" written in the 1980's. I tracked it down after my sisters were telling me of a slender fellow that they knew back then who said that he used to be quite large and read a book that taught him how to think thin. If it worked for even one person...it could work for me!
In the book, one of the exercises that she recommends is putting up a skinny picture (of yourself or someone else that you would like your body to look like) and see yourself in that body in a scene that you can relate to in your mind's eye. Ex. You are in shorts playing volleyball on the beach and you smell the ocean, feel the sand with your feet, you look down and see your slender legs and flat stomach...etc... (make up your own scene...it will have more impact). You rerun that scene for 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening. It is said that our subconscious understands pictures with feeling attached. Using that to our advantage by visioning ourselves as slender and healthy and feeling awesome instructs the sub-c to make that happen AND we start making better choices to get what we want. Instead, we so often do the opposite. For me, I critically look at myself and find my flaws instead of visioning a positive picture. I think I am motivating myself by being negative. However, it has actually demotivated me! Yikes!
Seeing myself in a positive light will provide positive motivation to stick to the LDL protocol. That, I could buy into.
I figure that LDL will do the trick for the pounds. This technique will help me to be kind and love myself and give my sub-c a positive pattern to keep my motivation strong.
I mention this because you said that you put up a skinnier picture of you on your refrigerator; you are instinctively thinking yourself thin already!![thumbsup ](./images/smilies/thumbsup.png)

Thank you all for your advice. I have not weighed myself but I probably gained at least five pounds. I changed my profile picture because seeing the progress will help.
Breakfast: fruit salad, refried beans, eggbeaters

Re: Jennie's Journal
If ice cream is so bad then why is it so good . . . . . I think part of my problem is that I don't have enough LDL food in the house. I need to go shopping but can't until Friday. I have very little fruit : (
Breakfast: refried beans, eggs
lunch: soup
dinner: salad
snack: popcorn
Please God help me to be good today.

Re: Jennie's Journal
Frozen fruit is great in the summer.
Instead of buying Ice Cream load up on frozen fruit so it is always handy.
And if you buy too much fresh fruit, before it goes bad, throw it in ziplock bags and into freezer.
Then you always have something handy for smoothies.
You can make the smoothies ahead and freeze them too.
Frozen graples are a great substitute for icecream.
I even like frozen blueberries mixed with a little raw yogurt.
Knowing what HFCS does to the body makes ice cream not so tasty.
The frozen fruit really does taste better. You just have to have it handy and eat until full.
Then you will not reach for the ice cream any more.

Re: Jennie's Journal
Awww so that is what HFCS is. I'm guessing that is very bad. Well back from vacation - gained 4 pounds, not as bad as I thought. I hope to fast today for the most part but in case I get hungry - fruit. Might make a soup. I really have to get back on the ball here.
