A couple of summers ago my GF and I were out shopping and we stopped by a boutique-spa shop. On the counter was this pretty-looking pitcher of something that we were invited to try. Yum! It was hot that day, for Anchorage anyway, and this drink was a real thirst quencher. So refreshing! The boutique owner gave the following simple recipe:
Pitcher of ice water
A few berries
Sliced up cucumbers, peeled first
Orange and lemon slices
Put the berries, cucumber, orange and lemon slices in the pitcher of ice water and refrigerate several hours. Squeeze in a little juice from extra orange and lemon slices for added flavor before refrigerating. Serve with ice cubes with berries or mint leaves frozen inside.
Make sure you consume within 24 hours so water stays fresh. I made batch after batch of this that summer!
