You are in good company with others starting anew as a New year's resolution.  I look forward to busy boards and renewed enthusiasm!  You can do this.  Ask questions or for support whenever you feel the need.  We are here for you!    Pam

The holidays can derail us, but the great news about LDL is that we can easily get back with the program.  I ate some rich foods for the holidays, but the big thing for me is to not feel compelled to not waste -- the leftovers.  One rich meal isn't bad -- it's when you feel you can't waste the leftovers and it becomes a week of rich meals.  I'm making my question to myself, "To waste or to waist?"  I'd baked some bread that I blessed the birds with today -- rather than eat the leftovers myself.  It was whole wheat, but that doesn't matter.  Bread seems to put weight on rather quickly for me. If I stay away from grains of all kinds, it comes off quickly too.  That is such a relief to have found out what my biggest problem was.

We'll have our annual New Year's Eve party on Friday night.  I'll probably eat a few off plan things that night, but I'm committed to eating LDL only until then and then right after then, if I do eat off that night.  Today I've eaten only fruit and veggies.  I'm just wanting them.  All fresh too!  They were all so good and I know they were good for me too.  I had a salad, raw baby carrots, asparagus and brussel sprouts for lunch.  That felt so good.

Thanks Pam and Crickadoodle

It is true I do crave fruits and vegetables.  This plan is great for jumping back on the program without any fears, knowing it will work.  I feel so much better when I am doing LDL.  I am going to order the Amish popcorn.  Had Taco Salad for dinner. All LDL.  Full so now will check e-mails then head for bed, work is busy end of month, year, etc.

Take care everyone and again thank you for your support.

This way of eating is the best!  I ate some bad things for the holidays and the weight went up a little.  I followed LDL perfectly yesterday and saw a 6 lb. difference in weight in just that one day.  I know that is water weight, but it sure is on the right track.  It is so easy to maintain with LDL, even with a little off eating now and then.  That's what makes it really work.  You can live in the real world.  I wish I did eat 100% right 100% of the time, but the truth is that I don't.  When I do eat off, I can easily get to eating right and the weight comes right off.  I also haven't had the time or made the time for exercise the past few weeks and even so, it is still manageable.   My exercise will get back on the schedule next week after New Year's Day.

Thanks Crickadoodle, sometimes we just need to hear what other people are saying.  I will try hard to conquer my addiction (for me this is what it is).  Breakfast today was beans, eggs and a yummy smoothie.  Still feeling full and its almost 1pm.  Have a great day everyone.

Wow! Happy New Year. Cuz you are doing great!       I too eat a little off plan every once in awhile be don't like the way I feel when I do. As well as the fact that if I do too much of it I get cravings. But thankfully I know what to do about that and I really usually am very excited about getting back to my healthy woe. Now what other eating plan can you say that about?

You are so right Hopeful.  Today has started good.  Corn thins with an egg and some cuties.  The few pounds I did put on over the Holidays are starting to come off and I feel so much better.  Thanks for keeping in touch, support on LDL is amazing.

I know you can do it.  Take it one day at a time.  Make meals and then freeze some of it for later.  This will help you when you just want to grab something quick for lunch.  Oh and label what you freeze.  I forgot to do that and It is mystery meals in my freezer.  *woot*
Start a journal, this helps me stay focused and on track.

Well I'm back to my 6 # loss.  Have been reading the boards every chance I get to stay on top of everything. I have been making more smoothies, ordered more corn thins, waiting for them to arrive from Amazon.  Free shipping YAH  It absolutely amazes me that I can go to bed full from eating LDL foods and actually be down a pound in the morning.   Looking forward to trying some of the receipes with pumpkin in them, bought  several cans around Thanksgiving.  Need to start walking again, thats next on my list to conquer.  Have a great week everyone and smile at that stranger, they may just need to see one.... :D

Thanks Roger

Eating today was kind of mixed up.  Had fruit for breakfast (apple and oranges), lunch ate on the run (just my computer was running though I needed to be) this evening had bean soup and some beef and pork roast. Kind of tired tonight, think it is the weather, snow and cold. Tomorrow is another day and with all the support on the boards I will do ok.  Have a great evening everyone......

Cuz, you are doing great for a good start of 2011.  I can't wait until the weather is better.  The snow is beautiful, but it gets miserable after a while.  I went back to the gym today.  I am at goal, and it doesn't take exercise to keep it so, but the exercise makes me feel terrific.  I walked 2 miles and then some weight training.  I get my legs worked on(laser on veins) in Feb.     and  :)  JF

Is your surgery for a vericose vein?  If so, my son had that laser surgery just before he moved to Mason, OH, and was very happy he had it done.  He was walking the same day without pain; but, he did have to watch the amount of moving around he did for a few days afterwards. However, whatever you surgery is for, I wish you well.  Lv, Vicki

Thanks, Vicky Lynn.  Yes, it is for varicose veins.  I have the stockings that I am to wear.  I also have to walk 1/2 hour each day after getting them fixed.  I got a sore leg in October from someone bumping me with a stroller while I was at Bob Evans Farm Festival judging.  I had blood clots, so I stayed away from regular exercise until they got better.  I am having my work done in Columbus, Ohio.  She is a vein specialists.  Yesterday, I had no problem with the exercise.  With my new body weight, it was if I had never been away.  It is very hard watching people over exercising trying to keep their weight in control.  Eat LDL foods, and exercise for health benefits give me so much freedom.  It is a hard concept to grasp.  Country Girl and I are very grateful that it is a plan that works for us.  We didn't have to make any NY resolutions, other than keep one with great choices, and to keep Jesus Christ at the top of our priorities.  When He is where He belongs in our lives, then it is easier to  enjoy every day.  *love*  :)    JF
