Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
you guys are all doing so well! Kathie, another lb.! Wendy, wow! Ollie, you've been so consistent.
Yeah, Donna! I'm glad the meds are kicking in and doing the trick for you. You'll be in Onederland before you know it! You're tired, and I wonder how your iron is. I give blood and getting my iron high enough to give has been a bit of a problem, but I can tell by how tired I am. Like today I don't feel tire and I plan to try again. Two weeks ago my iron wasn't quite high enough. I have a feeling it'll be fine today. I made sure I ate more meat since then.
Oh, the weather is gorgeous here today. It is nice and sunny, but cool and not humid at all. I did a good walk between 10 and 11 AM -- which would have been sweltering the day before.

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
Checking in with another maintain. 184. I was 182 a couple days ago and was hoping to be even lower this morning, but oh well, clothes getting looser, that is what counts.
I have decreased the amount of fruit I am eating and increased the veggies and protein and have found the hunger nearly gone! Over the weekend, I was only hungry once a day. I am glad to have that feeling back again. Gave blood about 10 days ago. BP down and HCT up to 42 again. Cholesterol still up but down some from what it had been. Way to go LDL! I'm lovin it!

I am the same this week. Been on a stall for a month now. When will it ever end?

Yahooo
Happy to report down 1 lb to 183. Getting closer to the 170's. Will work on it this week!
Clothes still getting looser than the scales show. I really have ankles now!

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
Yesterday I could've said I lost a pound, but today on my official weigh in day, I found it again.

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
Lisa,
I have been doing that the past 3 weeks. I would be down a pound or 2 before weigh in day then back up to maintain on Monday. But this week, I really was down that pound and maybe a bit more. Scales at work are in the hallway and I refuse to completely undress!
I think I may be down more than that pound but not enough to call it two so maybe next week I can call it 2 lbs!
Hang in there.
The fact you are dropping is the indication that your body is trying to let it go.
It will happen!

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
Yeah...I have been doing it for several weeks too...It is frustrating but I will take a maintain over a gain any day. Even if I do gain though..I know it just comes off right away if I stick to the plan. I have a doctors appt tomorrow and I am anxious to see my official weight. I started out about 15 lbs more than my doctor knew I was because I had put off going for so long this year. I can't find anymore watermelon or cantaloupe around here. I am devastated! I even had my Eddie looking down south to see if they had any..no luck...are they all gone?

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
Guess you are down to the frozen melons cut up in bags at Sam's. The mixed frozen fruit is good.
But the convenience is costly.
Can't eat the frozen stuff in the same quantity as the fresh for the same price!

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
We found some yesterday at Costco they are nice and juicy but not alot of flavor. I had been missing having watermelon for about a month since they had already gone up so high in price.

You would think in the great wide country we are in, there would be melon year round...someone needs to work on that. Lol Maybe Roger can start a melon farm somewhere for all of us melon eaters.

Re: THE RACE ON THE LOOSE CABOOSE
Having grown both cantelopes and watermelons, I can tell you the last ones off the vine look good but are pretty much tasteless. Seems like such a waste but we about came to the conclusion that for some varieties, it would be best to plant every 2 weeks. Once the first "flush" is harvested, just feed out the stragglers to farm animals and plow up the vines. What is left is eatable but not marketable. It may be possible to grow them in hot houses. Just more expensive. Most would not want to pay the price. Cantelopes might be easier grown in greenhouses or hoop houses. Even in SW Oklahoma it gets too cold in the winter to do that here. South Texas they start planting in Feb-Mar and harvest melons and start harvesting in June. So, welcome the warm soups and look forward to summer melons next year.
