Restarting - Quick Questions

Post by LMSP »

Me again.....
Since the last time I tries this I purchased a vitamix blender -- now I know why all of you raved about it before.
1 -- I am doing green smoothies -- fruit mixed w/greens -- I remember the program as all fruit for breakfast and dinner -- is it ok to mix the fruit w/the veggies now -- I do fruit/carrots/spinach/kale water.
2 -- I have been lifting weights and doing the treadmill/or Zumba fairly often -- I remember on the old program you did not have to exercise (at least until you could) -- no issue on the new program to exercise correct?
3 -- I remember the old program limited cheese as a "special" treat/snack if needed -- I noticed on the boards that cheese may have been added to the new revision - yes?

I would appreciate the feedback.

Thanks

Hi LMSP,

Welcome back!  Yes, any LDL food whenever you are hungry and then until full is what Roger Troy says now, with the understanding that weight loss may be a bit slower if you eat things like your lean meat in the evening, etc.  I don't think the greens in your smoothie would slow you down.  Exercise is great...still not REQUIRED for weight loss on LDL.  I think the stance on cheese is still the same....only as much as you need to eliminate a craving for it.  We use it like a condiment at our house....a sprinkle here and there on salad, chili, etc.....like RT did originally with blue cheese I think.

Again, welcome!

Blessings,
Julie

LMSP, Julie is right.  Cheese even fatfree should be used in limited quantities.  I'm glad you like the vitamix.  Those veggies are great to use in smoothies.  You can add a 1/3 cup of rinsed white beans to the fruit, and that will give you protein and you can last a long time without hunger.  You won't even know they are in the smoothie. With the vitamix, the soups are so easy to do quickly. WELCOME BACK to a great, satisfying way of eating and to the boards.   :D  JF

I never thought to add beans to the smoothie.... before I did not have the vitamix -- but that makes sense - Thanks - I will try that today
