Dray's Barbeque

Post by JerrieH »

I made Dray's Barbecue (recipe from red book) today and it was very good.  I didn't have the cup for Dole pineapple juice it called for, but I had a small can of pineapple chunks (unsweetened), so I just poured the pineapple chunks and the juice from the can in my mini food processor and pureed it, and poured the whole thing in the pan with the other ingredients.  I did want it to be a little sweeter (as I like my barbecue sauce to be really sweet), so I put a little stevia in it.  It was very good.  Jerrie

lol...thanks Linda....I do enjoy making new recipes from LDL or finding recipes in other recipe books/magazines that can be made LDL friendly so easily...it makes the LDL diet easier to stay on to have so much variety in recipes, instead of making the same recipes over and over...especially the bean soups.  I so enjoy trying the different beans soups because they are so creamy and satisfying and I enjoy having the bean soups for dinner.  When I first tried LDL last year, it was so hard for me to stick to, because I thought I was only supposed to eat fruit for dinner, and when I was making savory foods for my family, fruit didn't sound appealing for dinner.  So I didn't stick to LDL very long.  But when I started LDL again 2 1/2 months ago and found out I could have soups for dinner, it was sooooo much easier, having a sovory bean soup (instead of sweet fruit), while I was making savory dinners for my family.  I love the sweet fruit, just not for dinner.  But it does make the diet more enjoyable for me when I try new recipes.  Jerrie
