4 Weeks and 9.5 pounds are gone--NOW 22 POUNDS AND COUNTING!!!!

Post by Lori K »

At 4 weeks I lost 9.5 lbs (Those 1/2 pounds count too  ;D) This has been the easiest plan I have ever followed. Absolutely no cravings for Sweets, which has alsways been my killer!
Thank you Roger Troy and Mary and everyone else that have posted encouragement and recipes!!!! Keep those recipes coming.  *woot*
 **UPDATE**
9 Months have come and gone and I continue to loose - slowly but surely! 22 pounds gone and I feel in control of my eating for the first time in my life! I even made it through the Christmas and New Year's Holidays without gaining anything!! A first for me!!!!  ;D

The recipes posted here have been a life saver. I get so many ideas from everyone. I wish I could attend the San Antonio get-together and meet everyone.
Thank you so much to all LDLers!   *love*

Welcome casiedenman! Just inputting from my perspective. at the bottom of this page is a blue bar where you can select a bulletin board. One of the choices is "journals" and you can read everyone's journal here. Also, I'm new too but it's my understanding that the reason we shouldn't be weighing for the first month is because the protein we eat is dense and the fruit contains a lot of liquid, both of which might show up as a gain or not reflect a loss on the scale. The fit of your clothes is probably a better indicater. Do you have the book yet? I just got mine today and am so looking forward to getting the "skinny" as I continue this journey. I pray you continue as well and know you'll be successful if you follow the LDL healthy lifestyle. God Bless, Eljayne

Hi Casie!
I waited 2 weeks because I read from evryone including Roger that our bodies take time to adjust to this new way of eating. I wanted to wait a month, but I could tell that I had lost some and I was just too curious to find out how much. Each of our bodies are different, so perhaps you do need the full month before you weigh yourself.
Believe me, I have always had difficulties with whatever "diet" you name. I have probably tried it. This "PLAN" is sooo easy.
Basically, I eat a Fruit smoothie and a banana for breakfast. I bring some fruit for a mid-morning snack. Lunch I have a dinner that I bring to work and heat up. I try to include as many beans with the protein as I can. The recipes here are VERY useful!!! I usually eat one of the bean soups before I eat my protein. After work, I have some fruit if I am hungry. Or a smoothie. I always exercise everynight. Walk, ride a bike...
Then if I am still hungry I will eat corn on the cob with butterspray( I love this) or air popped popcorn with butterspray and any flavoring you like. So far, this has worked for me.
Don't give up. Give your body a chance to figure out how to handle this different way of eating. Good Luck and keep posting!!!!
