Off to the specialist tomorrow!
So the cellulitis continued to improve for a week after going off of antibiotics. Now, however, I am having pain in the leg again. I have an appt. with a specialist tomorrow. I have a good attitude about it. I feel like this is the Dr. who is going to help me finish healing. Please say a prayer for me. I'll keep you all posted.

By pain do you mean cramping? Hopefully it's just just a low potassium problem.
Get well,
Joe

Re: Off to the specialist tomorrow!
It's a good report!
The cellulitis is almost gone. He changed my antibiotics and said this last round should clear it up. He said the redness and soreness is because I have something called veinous staysis (SP?) It basically means that the blood goes down my leg but doesn't go back up as fast as it should. The good news is it is easily treated with compression hose, which I bought today. The EXCELLENT news is that as I lose the weight it will self correct and go away! WOOT!
While we were talking he was taking my history etc. I told him I was divorced with a dog. I told him I had lost 85 pounds but gained it all back. (Which, BTW, I found out today isn't true. I've only gained back 64 of those 85! ) Then I said, "I've kind of resolved myself to the fact that I'm one of those people who is just going to be alone. I'm okay with that as long as I can be healthy." He looks me right in the eye with a sideways glance and says, "Now why would you think that? You're a pretty girl! Don't live your life in regret. Every minute we live in regret is just one more minute we are missing out on the beautiful now and the beautiful future. You did it before, you'll do it again, and the best part is that you are doing it just for you this time. That's when it works long term."
I left his office smiling and crying because God showed me once again how much he cares for me. He took that cellulitis and used it to get me to the Dr. who would tell me about the vein issues and also tell me that I don't have to have it.

So happy for you LP! That's wonderful news! And, yes you are a pretty girl, inside and out! What kind of doggie do you have? We just lost our 13 yr old Maltese, Jilly to heart disease Sun. She past away in her daddy's arms. We are heartbroken. We also have a 10 yr old yorkie, Jack and a 2 yr old chihuahua, Benny.
Big hugs!

Oh Mary I'm so sorry for your loss. They are our babies aren't they? My girl is a 55 pound freight train of love. She is a Lab/English Foxhound mix. Energy machine! LOL

LP, you are not only beautiful but you are fun to be around, even on-line!! I hope to meet you in person someday, or face to face at Jesus' feet in heaven. LP , praying all goes well. God has a plan for each and everyone. We need to not lean unto our own understanding. God brings good things into our lives and circumstances which takes us to Him for answers. Mary, I'm sorry about your dog. I have a little dog, so I can feel your loss. I'm glad you're doing well health wise. Love and prayers to all. JF
