Help
HI
I have fallen and do not know how to get back on track. I am going through very stressful times and not eating properly is causing more stress. My son headed off to University and I feel very alone.I am moving to Nunavt in December so i have to get everything together.
I am able to do about only 1/2 day of good eating before i fall apart again.
can anyone help

Re: Help
WM, Remember, when starting LDL, You can eat LDL choice foods anytime you get the urge to eat. Make a double recipe of roasted butternut squash-garlic soup. Eat a hot bowl when you feel hungry. Make the Taco soup--eat it---make the pizza soup---eat it. You can always freeze the leftovers. Also keep fresh, frozen, and canned fruits. Eat them often. Grapes and apples are not expensive right now. There are so many kinds of dry beans that you can cook--use a crock pot. If you don't want to cook them, buy canned ones without sugar. Eat cornthins with hummus on them for the crackers. I'm so happy that I can eat until I'm full and satisfied of all the things that I mentioned. I also fix the meat loaf, burgers, salmon patties, fish fillets, steak, scrambled eggs, egg omelets, home made sausage--ON and On I can go. Reread the book, follow the recipes, and cook. You can do it, and you will be a winner for yourself and also for that wonderful son. You are an awesome lady to be able to do what you are setting out to do. I buy cases of canned beans, so I will never be unprepared. I never used canned beans before LDL, but once I found they could be used in so many recipes and I could lose weight, I feel so blessed. It's the first time in my adult life that I feel confident and am not hungry. Roger has given us the food plan, and with God's help, you can be successful. He's a faithful God, so ask Him for His strength.

Re: Help
Sounds like you have already gotten some very good advice. Plan ahead a little and always have a bunch of LDL healthy foods within reach. I find I can do the emotional eating with LDL foods and not gain weight. So when I have to I eat, I just make sure I eat the good healthy stuff.
You are doing great in coming to the community for help. You can do this. Big hugs,

Re: Help
I would like to thank everyone for all your help. I know what to do but just need to get off my butt and do it. I have to believe I am worth the time and effort it takes to eat healthy. Right now I am starting a hugh batch of Pizza Soup. My husband is even going to take it for lunch (he only eats one meal a day now and that is dinner). He does not need to lose weight but he does need to eat healthier.
I will have to ship things up north that I will not be able to get there. One thing is the CornThins good thing they do not weigh that much so shipping will not be astronomical.
Again thank you...I will be checking back more often to be accountable.

Re: Help
Stress I understand what you are going thru. But just remember that TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. Put you hands in the Lord and we will make it. I find that if I just don't put in the house the things that I have no self control over and only have the healthy snack I do better. My DH is my enemy as he likes to eat out and I lose self control. He is trying harder and I just put the food on the table and say you can eat mine or eat out and lately he is eating mine. I helps not to eat out.
You are a strong women and you can make it. Empty nest is no fun been there done that

Re: Help
I have junk everywhere, and I am not bothered by it. I think I must eat more than most people on LDL, because most of the food journals looks like I do. I have always eaten a lot of LDL foods since I started, and I'm so satisfied that I have no desire for the butterfingers. My DH enjoys the junk, but he's not like me. When I ate one candy bar, I ended up eating the bag. He is satisfied with mini two. Since I can eat a half of watermelon, or a bowl of grapes, I have no cravings. Beans, corn, and peas satisfy my bread cravings. Country Girl, my DH and I ate at Bob Evans after church today. My DH has two boxes of nut bread for snacking. EAT, Eat, Eat when hungry--LDL foods. I
this woe. I am so thankful for the food freedom.

Re: Help
I am over the temptations now, but in the beginning I had to get the junk out because of my plate-cleaning, don't waste anything syndrome.
Now, there is all the junk at work, but I can just say no thanks and enjoy a corn thin to snack on.

Re: Help
Good for you, LindaRN!!! Now, that's LDL at work--satisfied, full, and no cravings. I also noticed that you had moved to new numbers. That's the way to go. Every 10# is a smaller size, and easier on our feet and legs.
