Ollie, so sorry you fell!
That reminds me of something that happened a long time ago. In 1981 I came to Alaska with my then-husband who was in the military. Since we were both from Southern California we weren't used to ice, black or otherwise. Anyway, our first winter Rob bragged that he hadn't fallen one time, while I had managed to fall
several times.

Luckily not breaking anything. Anyway, we decided to take a trip to Sunny California for Christmas. Both our families lived there, and one day we all went to the L.A. zoo. Well, we weren't there a half hour when it happened. We were walking around and gawking at all the animals when Rob stepped on a sheet of ice on the pavement that was
hidden in the shadow of trees. I can't tell you how long it took him to actually hit the ground!

I mean his arms and legs were flailing in the air for what seemed like a
very long time before he actually fell. Poor Rob! :D He wasn't hurt, thank goodness, except for a bruised backside and ego! But for years we laughed ( or
I did, rather *evil*) about how he managed to miss all the ice patches in Alaska, but quickly found what looked like the
only one in sunny California!
