i know Mary- i am a very bad girl=
i dont like smoothies either and dont have time in the morning to fix one- i am up at 5:40am and out of the house by 6:00am for work

i take the dogs walking everyday-20-30mins depending on how Mr Martie is feeling- we use to walk almost an hour everyday- but he is almost 13yrs old now
he is on a diet and is getting slim and trim-  to bad mommy cant do as well as he does.

absolutely hate salmon- i have eaten some tilapia, but most in the stores is farm feed so they have so much more fat in the them.

i am such a pain in the tush i know....

How is Harrison doing?  mom is still taking the prednison she added sulfad....something or other that she has taken off/on for the past 20yrs - her Dr told her not take it as he wanted to give her some shots and you cant take both- but she is determined to do everything she can before she takes the shots.  and it seems with a change in her diet to be helping.

Renee,
The nice thing about smoothies is they freeze so well. Find something you can at least tolerate and force yourself to get it down because you care about your health. Make smoothies up on your days off and freeze in small cups. Grab one out of your freezer on your way to work and either drink it cold after it thaws or heat it up. Any smoothie concoction you come up with can be eaten ior drank hot or cold depening on how thick you want to make it.

As one band instructor told is in Jr. High, "Don't say you can't, say you'll try!"

my mom never really made me sit down and eat- i remember eating once when i was in the hospital i ate mashed potatoes, green beans and pork chops everyday as i would not eat anything else- they indulged me a lot since i was in the hospital every 6 months.  so i guess i am a little Spoilt rotten brat- i also have a very bad gag reflex with certain types of food-(soggy, soft stuff)- for ex. i have tried on numerous occ. to eat oatmeal- just cant get it down.  watching people people dip there bread (corn bread) in milk, makes me sick.  i'll do the best i can with what i can eat and go from there.

my mom has had this UC for many many years and it has been in remission for a long time- for some reason she just had a flair up (for all those years) she was told she had crohns, now its the new Dr that is telling her its UC.  she did not have the bleeding before so this scared her pretty bad and she is losing weight spite that fact that she is eating mashed potatoes and other non- LDL foods.  but at this point it is more important for her to get the UC under control.

you guys are great and i thank you for your support.

I have a sister with many of your food dislikes and gagging.  For her it's milk products, especially yogurt or sour cream!  Why were you in the hospital so often.  Hospital food is probably the reason for your strong preferences and aversions to certain foods.  Most hospitals are good at making mushy, overcooked foods!  Pam
