Thanks CQ, the chocolate cake was really good...won't have a problem avoiding green beer for St. Patrick's Day, since I don't drink beer...but corned beef sounds good...oh shucks, too fatty...guess I'll settle for green jello. haha Jerrie

Re: One month weigh-in success
I'm not a beer drinker, either. I'd much rather have a nice bottle of wine, champagne, vodka or tequila.
Thank goodness St. Patrick's Day is on a weeknight this year so I'm not going to be doing any partying.

Re: One month weigh-in success
Jerrie and others,
Don't wait to post your successes. Roger just wants them all to bunch up there because he is collecting successes to try to get more media attention to get the word out about LDL More LDL than the adds for the "Diet" miracle pills.
Click on the sections Personal Success, then on the top right click on New Topic. Then you can post your own success. Others need to know your success early on to also inspire them. Sometimes, seeing someone loose over a hundred pounds can just be too overwhelming. Small successes can be more doable for some!

Linda
There seem to be alot of people around here doing some new diet where you put a pill under your tongue. Then you eat only 500 calories a day. Mostly veggies and fruit. One lady told me she lost 40 lbs in 1 month, now is that even possible! It seems very unhealthy but they say it is short term dieting.
Thank God for LDL!

Re: One month weigh-in success
I wonder what the pill is for? Believe me, if you just ate 500 calories a day you would STILL lose about 40 pounds in a month! How unhealthy!
So I'm still wondering what role that pill plays!

Re: One month weigh-in success
Only thing I can think of is a vitamin B12 under the tongue.
At 500 calories a day and no meat you sure would need to supplement.
It is very unhealthy. Would work as an occasional "flush" a few times a month but not everyday for a month.
That would sure burn you out on fruits and veggies and send you racing for a big greasy hamburger at the end of the month.

Wendy,
I agree with Linda. It must be vitamin B-12. It's a natural high/speed and will give you a lot energy. But, 500 calories a day is setting yourself up for failure. It will kill/shut down your metabolism and make it harder to lose in the future if at all.
Later, when I have time, I will try to find out the details. I love playing detective...

Wendy,
This is the diet you were talking about in your previous post. There are various modes of HCG: injections, pills, sprays and sublingual drops. I wouldn't use it just based on the side effects alone.

Re: One month weigh-in success
It is supposed to be some kind of a hunger suppressent. They can eat a very small amount of fish or chicken but that is all for meat.
It is drops under the tongue or pellets. You can also take shots they say. You can only be on for 40 days to begin with. Then you go on regular eating without sugar or high carbs even up to 2000 calories aday. Then after 30 days you go back on again if you need to lose more weight.
There are alot of sites telling all about it. They figure 1 lb a day is what you will lose.
Here is a web page about how harmful it is:

Wendy,
This is the website that I originally found but the one I posted previously went into more details regarding the side effects.

I'll stick with LDL.

Re: One month weigh-in success
Just in our little town I have met plenty that are on this diet. My close friend came over yesterday to talk to me about it. I let her know I am fine on LDL and happy with eating all I want and still getting skinny.

Re: One month weigh-in success
Have heard some friends and relatives on a "Diet" and loosing a bunch of weight quickly. I am suspicious now since they did not elaborate.
When they go back to eating the same stuff again and gain it all back, they will come to us to find our secret!
This diet is scarry.
