New Let's Do Lunchers

Post by MsHeirloom »

Last week I heard from my sister Penny that she was following Let's Do Lunch and doing well.  Today I heard from 2 friends, Carol and Denise, that they, too, were starting the plan.  Success breeds success, and we can be an example of the results of healthy eating for our friends and family.  I am very excited for all these new "Lunchers!"  :inlove:!!!  Pam

New Lunchers

Post by MsHeirloom »

It's so hard not approaching overweight strangers and shouting the word!!  However, I do restrain myself.  I am so excited to see new people enjoying the benefits of LDL.  Cameron, I think Penny wants to lose more than I have remaining to lose (approx. 40#), but has considerably less to lose than I did when I started).  I hope all 3 new LDLers will post and keep us in the loop with their success.  As I've said many times, I could not have achieved my success without the wonderful, generous, supportive people here  :inlove: :rose:  :)~ !  Pam

Good work, Pam.  I tried to get a few of my friends on LDL but they all had one reason or another (usually bread or potatoes).  I, too, want to stop overweight strangers and inform them of LDL and what they are missing.

RT,  I just saw Kirsty Alley on Dancing with the Stars.  Is it possible for you to send her a book?  She seems to be in the same boat as the rest of us except we found LDL.  If she could eat all she wants and still loose weight what a great boost for LDL.  Oprah, too.

You have definitely chosen the right way!
While they begin to have all kinds of medical problems, you will just continue to be healthier.  *love*

Michelle - I will be praying for you and I am sure others on the board are doing the same.  You can do it.  I  have heard of numerous others who have had their weight loss surgeries, and while numerous ones got so sick from it, others have gained their weight back.  By doing LDL, and with the Lord's help, you will be able to achieve a greater success than they did, while being able to eat plenty of healthy food, without all the risks of surgery and regaining the weight, while staying healthy.  Jerrie :)

Michele,

Trust me when I say the Lap Band or any other gastric procedure is not the way to go. My sister had a gastric bypass and looks about 25 years older than her actual age. Look at it this way, you may not lose as fast as your friends but you'll look a lot younger in the end. This way of eating will take years off your face. Then and only then will friends realize their mistake and wish they'd done what you did.

You can do this, girl.

Michele
My good friend had the bypass surgery and lost all her weight very quickly.  She looks old and haggard plus is having alot of problems after only 4 years.  She also is struggling all the time to keep that weight off and has tried to go back to her old way of eating.  None of the problem eating was taken care of and now she is suffering.  After seeing her is when I decided that I wanted a healthy way of losing weight not a quick fix.

I know 4 who have had this type of procedure done .. I think the main thing is the person has to be really serious & committed about this and knows it is for life or it will not last as in the case of any permanent weight loss...  .. One is a 35 year old gal my former neighbor.. 3 years later she looks fantastic..  She is happy with the food she eats and has lost over 200 lbs.. and will never look back...
Yes some do have complications but the ones I know have never had a problem.. I think some places that do this are better than others, with more counselling and tough talk etc..
Here in Canada it is covered by medicare if one is over a certain weight... Would I do it ...NO... I have enough trouble to commit to a diet and at my age I think too risky..
