My son called to let me know that he's still alive and they're staying until next weekend. I knew I should have gone with him. It's been raining all day here...nasty.

Bite your tongue! We've had fires get too close to our home in the past. We're right off I-75 and people are always throwing their cigarette butts out the window. I'll take the rainy day anytime over that nerve wracking ordeal. There's only a 40% chance today and the weekend is suppose to be really nice. Now, I'm working for the weekend.

I like major thunderstorms with lots of lightening...you know the kind...where you have to light candles because you've lost electricity. Now all I need to do is find the perfect castle. 

It's the slow drizzle that I don't like. It seems to make the day just drag on and on...

My mom always calls those a "farmer's rain" because that is the kind that really soaks into the ground and does good for the plants and gardens.  So you really need that kind of rain.  I don't like them all the time, but they are very soothing.

My husband always looked forward to a "farmer's rain" when we had a crop growing in the back 40 before we moved to Tampa. I only enjoyed them when I wasn't working and could crawl up in bed with a good book to read.

Well, it looks like I got my wish. We're having a major thunderstorm with lots of lightening. Unfortunately, it's also including tornadoes.

We had that same kind of weather a couple of days ago.

I hope it didn't do as much damage as it has here.

No, we are good!  We did have a scare a few weeks back though.  My husband is just getting a new paint booth together at the shop and we have this new big stack on top of the roof and a tornado passed down a street right next to the shop!  I was thanking God so much, becaue he hadn't even used it once yet and that big stack was a perfect target for a tornado to ruin.  We could just picture what could have happened!  We saw the downed powerline and the trees that had been twisted and broken -- and a van picked up and tossed aside, etc.

Yikes! I love rain, but NOT tornadoes! 

We just have earthquakes here in Alaska!

So far I only know of two that actually touched down and did some major damage. I'm sure I'll find out more from the 6 o'clock news.

My father use to live in Alaska and now lives in northern CA. I know all too well about earthquakes...I'll deal with a hurricane any day.

I found out later that we had nine tornadoes touch down that day in the Tampa Bay area...Pasco (where I live just above the Pasco/Hillsborough county line), Pinellas (that's where Gwen lives), Hillsborough and Polk (that's where Mary J lives if I remember correctly) counties...I knew we had some major damage but I didn't realize it was because WE HAD NINE TORNADOS...

CQ, you are such a help to a lot of LDLER'S on  here I would like to see a picture of the girl who likes tornados....How about it!  Being from Ca. they frighten me, can't stand storms.

I don't like tornadoes...I like lightening storms.. and Tampa is the lightening capital of the world.

I'll have to get a pic made first. Then I'll have to have one of my sons help me post it.

To me lightening storms is bad too. Got that mixed up with tornadoes.  So get that picture up we will be looking for it soon,  ok.
