I have a question

Post by jojasamo »

I am new as I stated in a previous post.  I went out and bought the book yesterday. I didn't stop reading untiil I had completed the book.  I feel like  God has led me to this.  I definitely am addicted to bread, crackers, and things of that type.  I gained most of my excess weight (40 pounds) in one year as I was in my early 40's.  Since then I have not gained weight. I just can't get it off.  After spending lots of money to join a health club, join online diet plans, and as I stated earlier buying lots of books, I think this may be the plan for me.  The question I have is concerning breakfast.  I have low blood sugar which makes me very shaky in the morning.  My doctor told me to eat some protein almost as soon as I get out of bed - like a spoon of peanut butter or a yogurt or obviously meat.  I am not a meat eater anyway, so it isn't a problem to give that up for breakfast.  I normally eat whole wheat toast with peanut butter.  However, I love fruit, so I've already made a huge bowl of mixed fruit for the fridge this morning.  Would it be ok to eat a small lofat lo-sugar yogurt with my fruit.  This would give me a little protein.  One more observation after reading your book - As a child growing up with a stay at home Mom and a Dad who came home for lunch everyday - our main meal was always lunch.  My family was thin too.  We did eat desserts on the weekend but it was all homemade.  Even the schools had vegetables and meat for lunch way back then.  Now I have to send my teenage daughter's lunch with her - soup and a light sandwich or salad, because the school has menus featuring things like pizza with french fries and tator tots with spaghetti.  Also, as a child we never ate snack food or even sandwiches often.  I remember Mom saying too many sandwiches made people fat.  Oh my, how times have changed.  Anyway going back to this way of eating sounds like the plan for me and I will give it a try.  Just let me know what you thing about the yogurt.  God is good!!

Thanks so much - I guess I was trying to get through the book so quickly that I just missed that part. I'm sure I will be rereading the book daily.  I can't thank you enough for giving me hope that this will work. Somehow in my mind I had convinced myself that all starchy vegetables weren't good to eat on a weight loss plan.  As a result, I could never stay with a plan because I was always hungry.  I will definitely update you with my progress.  Praise be to God!!
