RT; I was quite shocked when you said I was doing portion control. (I thought: "What!??? I don't DO THAT!?") LOL
Then I went back and re-read what I ate that day. YOU WERE RIGHT!!!! I did not even realize that I was doing it. Thank you for catching it...

27 August 2008

Midnight:
Drank 4 oz of Diet Dr. Pepper for medicinal purposes
[I woke up in the night with an upset stomach. The only thing I've eaten "off-LDL" was the corn chips. Awhile back I tried eating grits, corn chips and other things made with corn meal; I found that it interfered with my weight-loss. I made the choice at that time to cut out most cornmeal. BUT felt, as a Texan, that I could NOT do without corn chips occasionally. With the upset stomach last night, I believe it is time to let go of my chips.]

Before breakfast:
coffee;

Breakfast:
a small smoothie (left over from yesterday), 2 eggs, raw oats soaked in skim milk (flavored with Stevia and cinnamon), red tea, water, vitamins;

Lunch:
last of my sirloin steak, english peas, carrots, iced green tea, water, vitamins

Snack:
hot chamomile tea,

Supper:

Before Breakfast:
coffee

Breakfast:
banana, 2 eggs, oatmeal with Stevia and cinnamon, hot tea, water, vitamins

Lunch:
(Eat until full of --) chicken breast(s?), black rice, corn, water,

Supper:
I went to a dinner/speaker meeting about "Nutrition and Cancer" for my client/friend. She stayed home in bed.
During the "edu-talk" they served a ceasar salad (I left the croutons on the plate). Second course was some fancy chicken and noodle dish (I ate the chicken and the parsley and left the noodles). Dessert was called Ambrosia (I picked a couple of pieces of fruit out of it but left most of it because it had a sugary topping).
All the food was made from scratch with a lot of fresh herbs to flavor it up.

Late Night Snack:
I was still hungry when the meeting was over so I went out and ate a bowl of cooked oatmeal at I.H.O.P..
:)

Well, since my client is in his right mind, I do not have the right to tell him what to eat in his own home.  And since my purpose is to be his hands, that means cooking the bacon he brings home. And yes, the smell drives me wild.

***BUT***, I have not had even one nibble since being corrected.
I'll try to find the Jenny O style you mentioned. {I gave up trying to eat turkey bacon 2 years ago because I couldn't find any without sugar.}

I really hope I can find it.

Good Gravy NJ...is that all you ate yesterday?  You don't feel hungry?

seems like such little food....oh, i know why...cause i didn't see any beans in there.

don't you snack in between?  i can't live without my snacks of popcorn in between the meals...but i bet your blood sugars must be wonderfully stabilized...Niki has pointed out that i probably (i'm sure she's right) eat too many times during the day and so my blood sugars are not stabilizes, causing me to crave more food...  i have never gone many hours like you without eating...even when i was losing weight with LDl i ate every couple of hours.  I'd feel like a real winner if i could go hours without eating.  The only time i CAN go hours like that is in the morning when i'm on empty....but it seems that once i start eating...i can't go many hours without "topping off" my fuel tank.

Sounds like you're doing great! Congratulations and i plan to be right along side you eating LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!

p.s.  about bacon...i grew up eating it...i fantasized about having a house constructed of bacon where i could just pull a strip off and shove it in my mouth!!  When i reverted to Islam (btw, we say reverted and not converted 'cause we believe everyone is born submissive to the laws of the Only One God in the Whole Universe (in other words we're not born without His leave and say so) -- "Islam" means "Submission to God".....anyway, that's a whole other topic)...i stopped eating pork and missed bacon something awful. i love the smell of it and before LDL i ate  beef bacon i found at a halal market...if you can find a halal food market near you, go and ask them for beef bacon....you WILL be satisfied with it...but i thought we were not supposed to have processed meats on LDL so i haven't eaten that...Are you saying i can have beef bacon???  Anyway, sorry for my rambling...my point was that my husband who NEVER had a piece of pork in his mouth in his whole life (poor baby) can't stand the smell of it...when we walk past the diner in the morning he wants to gag and i want to follow the tendrils of that bacon aroma into the diner like in the cartoons when the aroma turns into fingers and the smeller is lifted off the ground in a trance....

hugs
God bless

;D  LOL

Margo, I may have eaten few items during the day; but I ate a LOT! I keep something on hand for a snack, but yesterday I wasn't hungry at 'snacktime' so I didn't eat.
[Oh and "THANKS" for pointing out that I haven't eaten beans...(said humorously, with a sarcastic tone). You're going to bring the Bean Queen down on me now!]

30 August 2008

Before Breakfast:
coffee

Breakfast:
grapes, bananas, strawberries, water

Lunch:
beef, salad, apple, hot tea, water

Supper:
grapes, water

Not enough food today: I was at a conference from Friday afternoon to late Saturday night. By Saturday afternoon they ran out of food that I could choose from (except for grapes) but I was just too tired to leave the Civic Center and make a run to the store for LDL foods. So I went to bed hungry Saturday night. But I'm awake bright and early this morning with enough energy and eagerness to go on a hunt for good food!  :D
I am VERY PROUD of the fact that I left alone the non-LDL foods all weekend; INCLUDING a pecan pie that looked like my mother's pies. It drew me on an emotional level but instead of eating it I pulled a friend aside and talked about my mother for a few minutes! All praise and glory to God who gives me strength!

RT;
I sure do appreciate your involvement on these message boards. Where else does an author of a book get so involved in the lives of his readers? May God bless you and Neets and Mom!
