Can I just say that you ladies have helped me.  This past year with the divorce of my parents, after over 40 years of marriage then the engagement of my Mom to another man...I've struggled but this thread has encouraged me to be thankful for the relationship Mom and I do have...even helping me be happy for her and the man she is to marry.

Know, NJ, that I will continue to pray for you.  Thanks, Connie, for sharing your heart.

Trusting Jesus,
Julie

Connie and Julie;

I am so glad you both posted here. It reminded me to come back and update...

I wanted to say "Thank you":  first to my Abba, I appreciate the way You care for me; secondly to everyone here who was/is praying for me, I woke up feeling better the morning after my last post. Your prayers and Abba's hand carried me through the anniversary of Mother's passing.

Today is the 12th of June.
A couple of months ago I came to the conclusion that I defeat myself when it comes to sticking with LDL from Thanksgiving till June (mother's death).
For months now I have been side-tracked by non-LDL foods -- not because of cravings, but because of extreme emotions and my reaction to them...
I have wondered if I am now past the cycle that I am only beginning to understand.
Today was the clencher. I went to the bank to visit with my financial advisor. Had to wait while he met with another client. The hostess at the front offered me coffee and homemade cookies.
I looked at the cookies. They looked good. They would have been gobbled down a few weeks ago... They did not even tempt me at all today. I am through the tunnel. Ready to ride.

I am hopeful that next time (Thanksgiving 2008 through June 2009) I will be more aware of myself and my emotional triggers; to better slide through the bad times with a renewed dependence on Abba, rather than on so-called 'comfort foods.

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers.

Man!  I feel like the original post of this message is hitting again!

In October of 2007 I had a friend go on Hospice care. She died soon after.
And 'Reo broke his leg. It healed (heeled? teehee) crooked and still gives him a bit of trouble.

Now in August of '08, a friend I have taken care of for nearly 2 years has been placed on Hospice. I don't expect her to last long and I am really hurting over it.
AND Thursday night 'Reo ate 1/2 a box of rat poison...  I thought he was going to die! Well, we got him to the all-night vet very quickly and they cleared the contents of his stomach and started him on an antidote. Right now he is running around like he is fine and I am bawling because I am exhausted and stressed and grieving.
I am glad he is not as sensitive to my emotions as a former pet used to be. My first dog, after I was an adult, was Mintu Jay LaRue. If I was suicidal he sat on top of me. If I was crying he'd lean against me and gently lick my tears.
'Reo is just happy I'm home and has no idea I'm crying...

NJ,

Prayers and ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((H U G S))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) to you my friend.  It is difficult to watch our loved ones leave us here on this earth.  There is no doubt in my mind that we miss them.  I remember these words from a song that helped me when Grandson passed on to his eternal life, "Cry if you want to, miss me if you must, but don't worry about me, I'm in a place that I love"!  I guess that is what keeps me going alot of days when the lonesomeness could be unbearable.

So, here are some more
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((H U G S))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

We love you gal!
Jeanne

Oh, please pray for my sweet step-mother, Katy. Her younger son had a mental illness related to previous drug use. He killed himself Tuesday; wasn't discovered until 2 or 3 days later. I just learned about it this morning, Sunday.
Please pray for Katy and her remaining 4 adult-children.
