New to the boards

Post by GTrip »

Hello everyone,

I am new to the boards and I am an herbal nutritionist. This is my first time hearing of this diet book and radical eating plan.  One of my clients found this article in the magazine,  “First - June 2009” and brought it to my attention.  She wanted to know what I thought about it.  Well, after reading the article some of it sounds healthy but the rest I am not so sure about.  I know that everyone thinks that the low-carb diets are healthy but in fact some are not.  I told her I could not give her an honest answer just from reading the article and I would order the book and after reading it I would let her know.  There are so many quick weight loss (unhealthy) programs out there that you will loose weight on in the beginning but not keep it off over the long hall.  So I will investigate more and report back with my findings.  Any input is more than welcome.

Many Blessings,

GTrip

Hi GTrip,
Welcome to the boards. After you have had a chance to read through some of the success stories and see the wonderful support that is available from this incredible community, I am sure you will have great things to say and support the plan.

I have been overweight all my life and this is the first time my appetite is under control - and I haven't even reached the 2 week mark. All my cravings simply have vanished. Food no longer consumes my life.

Sometimes it is not all about losing the weight -though this is the reason so many have come here - sometimes it is about the quality of life. I feel so much better since eating the LDL way. I have more energy, I am more focused, I feel supported in my goals, and I have somewhere to go when I have questions, anytime.

I no longer look for Atkins bars to fill me up. I no longer take supplements to decrease my appetite, increase my energy and rev up my metabolism. I don't even think about those things any more. And when I am facing the pizza and/or Ice cream cake that everyone else is eating, I can say "No, thanks!"  without feeling deprived.

I sincerely hope that you will try this for yourself so you can have the "experience". I further hope that when you decide to support the plan you will frequently visit the boards to lend encouragement and your expertise.

I was praying today about having a Nutritionist in our community. I didn't know if there already was one here with us. Maybe you are the answer to that prayer.

Thank you,
Julie :rose:

I agree, Julie....and having so much real and natural foods to eat.

I can't imagine anything better!  It was so wonderful that you can eat good fresh foods and love it.  I am enjoying it and I can't believe, how fast those sugar cravings went away, without some pill or diet-bar, like you said!  It is a miracle as far as I am concerned!

Even after one of those processed diet bars, slim fast or frozen lunches, I would still be hungry.  I would eat all sugary foods and many times I would go buy it because it was such an addictive food for me.  Everything with LDL from the very beginning felt natural.  I even quit biting my nails, I am happier, my attitude is looking up instead of being depressed!  When Roger prayed to God for guidance I am sure all the inspiration couldn't be wrong.

I really felt guided after reading First article because of Roger's prayers and well, anything to do with God always feels right! *love* *love*

Many blessings to be had!

Michelle (Chelle) *love*

Hi GTrip:

Welcome ! It's fantastic that your client came to you looking for information and asking the questions.  After reading the book and scouring these boards, I think you will find that this diet is not low carbohydrate.  It's about eliminating refined and processed foods.   Bananas, corn, pineapple, sweet peas, chickpeas, all have substantial carbohydrate counts.  The National Academy of Science recommends no less than 120 grams of carbohydrates per day. Atkins recommends no more than 20, Protein Power no more than 12-15%, etc.   I am certain between the banana-pineapple smoothie in the morning, the popcorn, beans, corn, etc, I am taking in about or over 120 complex carbs per day, and a lot less fat than I did in the past.   I think there are some people who are losing fast but as you will find on the boards, many people are losing more slowly.  I agree with Julie and Michelle, eating foods that are fresh and unprocessed makes you feel good, and, at least for me, eating my heaviest meal at lunch leaves me going to bed at night without feeling full, and waking up feeling energetic and ready to go.   Interested to hear your comments after doing your research.   You might want to start by emailing Roger Troy Wilson directly with any questions or concerns.  Enjoy!

I used to eat the prepared "diet" food and THEN start eating all the other stuff i was craving. It never worked for me but LDL is helping me even tho I'm still waiting for my book and have only been here for a week. I feel better, not craving junk and the support is amazing.  Welcome! Eljayne

I used to have to rely on diet pills and exercise to curb my appetite.  After 3 weeks of doing LDL I am eating less junk food and have not touched or wanted to touch rice, pasta, bread and chocolates even if I came thisclose to it.  I can't remember ever eating as much fresh fruits as I am doing now with LDL and my body loves it.  I now look forward to eating beans with my meal and really do believe they are good for you.  Other diet plans have never appealed to me in the past because they all seem very restricted to certain food groups.  Some asked you to stay away from certain fruits or vegetables which I though really was weird since those carry essential nutrients your body should have.  With LDL I am never hungry. Making smarter food choices seem to come easily nowadays.  And when I am full, it's a different kind of full feeling.  Satisfied full, not sick full.  I wish I had known about LDL sooner.

The only way to really investigate it is to try it out for yourself and see how good it really is.  Even if you don't need to lose weight, you can benefit from the learning to eat better among other things.

GTrip,

Welcome to the board.  I studied herbs and naturopathy and this program is definately different than what I learned.  I have been on it a week now and feel great.  No cravings and feel I am eating healthier than I ever have.  I've done the juicing, fasting, etc. but could never stay with eating healthy for long.  This feels as if it is a lifestyle I can live with. I just didn't have many recipes to follow.  It's a bit of prep work for me only cause I've not cooked in a long time.  But I'm feeling real good.

Hello, GTrip, and welcome to the boards.  Your career as an "herbal nutritionist" sounds fascinating, and your commitment to your client is admirable.

We are known for our hospitality here.  So I hope I do not come across as "hostile" when I ask, what are your qualifications to conduct an investigation of Let's Do Lunch, as in licenses, certifications, registrations, continuing education, home schooling, etc?

We are also known here for being intelligent and open minded.  We look forward to reading your findings and examining them in relation to the holistic success so many of us are experienciing after changing our lifestyles to reflect the Let's Do Lunch way of eating.

PAX.  And again, welcome.
