Re: Shoe Size
Oh how great on the shoe size. When my sister pasted away we were both about the same size. I had free run of her closet. We wore the same size shoe 10 extra wide. I came home with 15 pair of SAS shoes. She was always buying. Well the sad thing is the sandles are all getting to big. and the lace ups are not as comfortable as they were. I notice that my feet don't swell as much since I don't consume as much salt. What a difference LDL makes. As for closet shopping I have the two small on the back rack and the right nows up front. The up front is getting lesser and I am now being able to get the back burner to the front. When I run out of things to wear or if I need something for my Cruise then I will go shopping. or maybe not. Snoopy said she would send me her hand me downs. She got some nice things. Another closet to shop in. to bad it is 1800 miles away from me.

Re: Shoe Size
Good Morning my friends - Happy Sunday!
Hey Donna,
A closet is a closet - no matter how far. If she gives you access - yeah for you! You can think of it as internet shopping without paying!
How funny about your closet organizing --- I have organized my closet in the same way - LOL
I used to call myself anal but now I am learning to roll with my idiosyncrasies and embrace them. I am trying so hard NOT to shop until I have fit into every thing in my closet and also in the storage boxes. That means I don;t need to shop until I am a size 10! Now, with LDL, that doesn't seem too far off!
I have given away so many bags of clothing - a lot of it with the tags on. I feel badly for the money I have spent but I know now that I was trying to fill a void that is no longer there. And hopefully someone else will find them useful and the clothes can fill their destiny.
Julie

Donna, LDL sure had made a huge difference for me. A cruise sounds great. Have enough fun for me too when you go. That is something I have never done.
I agree a closet is a closet. I wish I had saved my smaller clothes.
Julie, I'm glad you no longer have to worry over filling a void.

Julie,
Speaking of clothing with the tags still on them. I don't know what the clientele is like where you live but there are a lot of women that live in Tampa that fly to New York to do their shopping every year even though we have a Saks Fifth Avenue, etc. Most of them never wear what they bought and have no room for their next shopping spree so they put them on consignment.
I found a gorgeous outfit for work that still had the tag on it and you wouldn't believe how little I paid for it. Maybe you should consider that as an option when you do start to shop for clothes. I also found Easter Dresses for my nieces with the tags on them for only $2.00 a piece. And believe me, that was far from the original price.

Re: Shoe Size
CQ,
That's Awesone! Happy for you to have found some great buys! That's always a rush. I read that Shopping is to women, what Hunting is to men. Shopping is how we take care of the gathering impulse.
(Not to mention how much fun it is - esp when everything you try on fits and looks good!
)
I was thinking of checking out the ones in Manhattan. They probably have some designer stuff in there. Of course they are all size 2s,4s & 6s. I am in 16s now and some are getting loose, so those teeny sizes could be in my future. I am aiming for my next birthday, April 9th, which is a big one, OY! (How the hell did I get to this age? I can't even type it.
) There are also a lot of affluent areas in NJ - lots of money here but I am afraid all the clothing will be beige
. I am more of a Fuchsia and Violet girl myself.
I am wistfully watching Diane Lane get her groove on in Italy with a hot Italian in Under the Tuscan Sun! There's a great story told in it about how they built a train track across the Alps before there was a train that could make the trip. Perhaps I should go and buy a fabulous outfit in a size 8 now; sort of like - if you buy it, the weight will drop off!

Julie,
I say go for it. You never know what you may find.
My favorite color is purple but I tend to buy suits in the classic colors except brown...black, navy, winter white and then use my favorite color and basic colors for my blouses. There was a book called, "Color Me Beautiful" that came out years ago and I found it quite informative when it came to buying my clothes.
By the way, I love that movie. She's an awesome actress especially when she plays opposite Richard Gere. They seem to have some kind of chemistry that works really well on the set.

Re: Shoe Size
OMG CQ - did you see Unfaithful? How hot was that french guy? I still cringe when I think of Richard Gere bopping him on the head with that snow globe - one smack - Thunk! Dead!
I would also guess from your posts that you liked the National Treasures movies with Nicholas Cage. I watch them all the time when they are on.
BTW I also have that book. I am going through a color crisis right now. Since my hair color is predominantly white unless I color it every 2 weeks, I have had to go lighter. So I went from a Winter to a Fall and I do not like the fall colors. So I do what you do and use the winter - more vibrant colors for accessories - like fuchsia suede shoes or a purple leather handbag!
Bama,
Don't go there cause I'm not following ...
back atcha!
2 copies - now that's a fan. I just have it on Tivo along with Enchanted, August Rush and Kate & Leopold. This way I can feed my fantasies whenever I wish. I guess my movie choices reveal a lot about me. I love strong, good looking men with good manners - throw in some music and a happy ending and I'm sold!
I have to get off these boards and get some stuff done - have a great night!

Yes, I do! In Sayreville - Bon Jovi territory. Smack dab in the center of the state. Are you in NJ, too?
OK I am doing nothing but talking about men so I am guessing I need to go exercise since there is not one around.

Re: Shoe Size
Julie, I saw the movie. I've pretty much seen all of Richard Gere's movies. He's definitely very sexy.
I haven't seen the National Treasures with Nicholas Cage but I do like him. I had the chance of meeting him in person once and my MIL said that I was drooling...like she wasn't.
They never could decide if I was a Winter or Summer. So during the winter thru early spring I use the darker colors from the Winter category. During the summer thru the early fall I use the Summer colors. What I like about it is I don't have to have the item of clothing with me to buy something that will match. And Shalimar has ALWAYS been my favorite perfume and that's a Winter item. They've since come out with a lighter version so I use that during the summer months so that it's not so over powering to people around me from the heat.
As far as my choice in movies, I definitely like a good romance story. I could watch Thorn Birds over and over. Rich Man, Poor Man is another good one but you can't buy it on DVD. Scruples is another one that I'd like to see again. And, of course, I could go on and on all night.
Good Night,

Re: Shoe Size

I too have lost a whole shoe size. My eyeglasses got too big for my head and I went from a size 9 to a size 8 shoe. It is so funny how things I didn't even think about becoming too big with the weight loss have but it sure is fun replacing my clothes and shoes.

Hello Vikingprincess, I agree I like replacing things too. Congrats on doing so well on LDL. I never thought about loosing a shoe size. So I got to thinking about what other things might be to big......My watch, my rings...and lol my pantyhose. I even got to adjust the steering wheel on my vehicle
.
I even discovered I can sit differently.

Re: Shoe Size
This is interesting. . .I wondered if my foot would shrink since it did grow the last few years. I also have noticed that my legs and feet aren't as swollen since starting LDL. I also really love some of my cute shoes - I'm not as bad as Imelda Marcos, but I do have a lot of shoes that I'd hate to not wear.
BUT, if that's a side benny of losing weight, I'll just have to force myself to go shoe shopping.
And also, like y'all, I'm still doing closet shopping. I really don't want to go shopping until I'm out of plus-sizes. I wanna shop off normal rack sizes!!! And I will make it with LDL!! I'm not quite as organized as some of you ladies tho - can you come straighten out my closet?
Hey Bamaluvr and Crickadoodle, both my DD's were born in New Orleans and we thought they'd go to LSU. We'll be Saints fans forever - no matter what!!
Then we moved to LA (lower AL to non-southerners) so they both - with all my monies for 6 yrs - attended Alabama. The SEC is the BEST isn't it?!
I decided you can see more on tv watching the games than sitting in the stadiums/domes. Plus you miss the traffic and the drunks and the cowbells. . .
Definitely gonna go goodle that "slap ya' mama" spice - sounds fun!!

Well, CQ, I didn't know your were Cajun! We are probably related. I did our family tree years ago and found out my mom and dad were related several times way back.
Lynn, the SEC puts all the others to shame. We don't always get the respect, but we've got an opponent who you have to watch out for every SEC game you play. It's so funny. As much of a rivalry you feel with another SEC school -- like boy, I couldn't stand those Gators, and, sorry Bamaluvr, right now LSU and BAMA are fierce rivals (our former coach is now their coach). Let another division play them and I'm right there pulling for them. It is just fun watching. I know had I been born somewhere else, I'd be a fan of a different team. My Tiger loving is a connection I have with my dad, who passed away 21 years ago. I really think that is a strong part of the reason why I am such a fan. In the great scheme of things it is only a game, but on game day it just can feel like the most impt. thing in the world!
