Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Thanks for encouragement, JJ. It does help to remember I'm not the only one going thru stuff. Doreen (saved4life) is also suffering intense workplace horribleness to the point that she has given up on LDL. Asking for prayers on her behalf.
Each time I'm eating trash I ask myself why I'm choosing to hurt myself with food. That used to work for me. Now the answer has been coming back to me, "I don't know and I don't care." How scary is that, to consciously allow uncaring, unknowing others take control of my life to this extent? Unresolved anger and hostility is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. But knowing that doesn't seem to help me stop doing it.
HELP ME JESUS! I want my good life back!

Well, Gwen, you better than anybody knows how great LDL is about forgiving mess ups. Hop back on board and be good to yourself. We sure miss you when you are away from the boards. It's history.

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Recipes for Sunday night's dinner:
Smoked Vegetable Soup --
Generic LDL Minestrone Soup with addition of Roasted Red Peppers, Sam's Club Smoked Paprika, and McCormick Smokehouse Ground Black Pepper. Inspired by a Sonny's BBQ soup du jour that I never got to taste because they are always sold out. I seriously crave Sonny's smokehouse taste but really don't want to eat all that meat just to enjoy the smoky flavor. So I developed this soup and enjoy it frequently.
Tropical Fruit Smoothie --
1 lg. Banana
1/3 c. Frozen Mango Puree
1/3 c. Frozen Guava Puree
1/3 c. Oikos nonfat Greek Yogurt
6 Ice cubes
Squeeze Fresh Lime Juice
Stevia to Taste
Blend all together. Makes about 2-1/2 cups.

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Thanks Doodlebug. I'll be glad when this funk has passed. I hate it but don't know how to get myself out of it. The enemy has stolen my joy and I want it back.
Scripture says to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness and lift up your voice to God. I'm trying, but my yoke is VERY heavy right now.
I feel good after the above comfort food dinner. Going to have a shower and early bedtime. Maybe I'm just tired.

Gwen- Tomorrow is a new day, a new week, and a new start for you. Forgive yourself, and also forgive those who made you feel so bad that you mistreated yourself. You are our "poster child for LDL." Like Crick said, hop back on board. LDL as an eating plan and this board are both very forgiving. Pam

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Hey Gwen, just want to let you know I am thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Thank you for your honesty. That alone is a healing balm to our souls.
As you think of all the negative stuff tap your collarbone area with both hands and say out loud to yourself, "I love myself anyway!" Say that 3 times. The truth shall set you free. Acknowledgeing the truth and loving ourselves anyway sets us free of the bondage of those negative self hate thoughts and words. The tapping simply connects the mind, Body and spirit in a very physical way. It works. Don't let the seeming simplicity of the tapping keep you from at least trying it.
Wishing you well,
Bobbi

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Hi Gwenn,
I am a newbie and I was going thru too many sites to remember where I read this article but I'm pretty sure you were the one who wrote it.
I don't think it is in your journal because this is the first time I've been in this site.
It was a letter you wrote and in it you were talking about how you weren't going to let a machine w/ numbers on it run your life.
It was probable 6 paragraphs or so????????????
It really inspired me and so I wanted to bookmark it in my files.
I don't know, maybe it wasn't you........
Anyway, thanks for all you do for us newbies !!! Your life is an inspiration.......... or as we like to call inspiration, in-spirit-action.
Blessings!
Mo

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Dear Mo - AW! You are very kind! I liked how you call inspiration "in-Spirit-action". That is SO appropriate for this website, isn't it? This is the first Spirit-led message board I have seen and I love it here so much. I love the opportunity to share the Lord during this long journey. I have visited other boards that were so vile... Don't know what to say about that - only that Roger Troy has blessed a whole generation of people with his willingness to share his journey. I am grateful.
The fact that the scale lies is a common theme with Lunchers, so it could have been anyone who wrote that. I have never posted or published about weight loss anywhere except on letsdolunch.com so if you read something I wrote it had to be here, but not necessarily on this thread.
I started a topic a while back under General Discussion messages titled "Personal Proof the Scale Lies" - something like that. If you do a keyword search on the message board main menu you can find it. I cannot search for it from my blackberry or I would post a link. Maybe someone reading this will find it and post a link for you. My computer is buried and I plan to keep it that way until I get some stuff donw that has been hanging over my head for two years.
Mo, welcome to Let's Do Lunch. I hope you visit my journal page often!

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Today I talked to Mike about all your loving responses to my pain, including the collarbone tapping (which I did, btw) and he was impressed with our extended support system. Me too. Ya'll help me so much with your loves and concern. Thank you to one and all ...

P.S. Feeling much better. Got some garbage out of my system and put into proper perspective.
Life is too precious to waste dwelling on sorrow. And this gorgeous weather !!! WOO HOO - it makes me wanna dance!

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Hey Gwennie,
I have been thinking about you so came here and have read the last few pages to find out how you have been. I will be praying and am still looking forward to our River Walk walk (not sure I could keep up with you and Mary doing the Cotton Eye'd Joe:-)
We are traveling and you are particularly on my mind because my girls ran into a very encouraging lady and their story about her reminded me of you...didn't happen to be in Lampassas, TX today?
Anyway, hang in there dear friend...you continue to encourage me (even in your so called "pity party", so keep posting. Also, our Lord will not fail you. I'm praying He'll continue to restore your joy and incredible self-control with LDL.
Trusting Jesus,
Julie
