i wouldn't say that anyone should eat a whole package of corn thins.....but, if all you're talking about is a half dozen or so, that's nothing....if you find yourself hungry enough to eat a whole package then you should make sure you're REALLY eating until you're full....
which actually is what mike should also do......the goal is to really eat until you're full so that you don't WANT to snack....
life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain..

What size Lock n Lock do you find most useful?  I looked on line and there are lots of sizes to choose from.  On QVC do they come in larger groupings?
Thanks for all your help this sound like the answer to traveling that's for sure.

We made Kathy's pancakes for breakfast with an egg on top.  On my first pancake I put sf syrup but then I found it had an ingred. with ose on the end.  The second one I put sf raspberry jam on with an egg.  It was delicious and amazing to realize it was made with butterbeans for the batter.  I am sure it will be a once in a while meal since I am thinking this will cause cravings possibly.
I tried to make my chili without meat but I just couldn't get it to taste right with just spices.  I finally threw in a handful of hamburger and we ate it for dinner.  Will eating ex-lean hamburger at dinner after eating protein at lunch keep you from losing weight?

B:  Pancakes w/ syrup & then w/ Jam
    2 eggs
L:  Chicken & Corn Chowder
    Banana & Orange Smoothie

D:  Chili w/ handful of ex-lean hamburger
    Fruit

Mike's Day

B:  Pancakes w/ Raspberry Jam
    2 eggs
L:  Stuffed Tomato w/ Chinese Chicken
    Banana & Orange Smoothie
D:  Chili w/ handful of ex-lean hamburger
    Fruit

I can tell this is working and I am truely on my way.  I went to the drug store today and there were all the goodies sitting on the counter.  Especially those Mint Dream Creams which I can just never pass up just that one!  But today when I looked at them they didn't scream at me to eat just one.  I had no desire and I thought I don't need you I can go home and eat  my wonderful fruit and be much happier.

Thanks for all your help.  I found QVC on line and looked at all the different ones.  I plan on ordering today so I have them when Mike travels again after Thanksgiving.  There is just the two of us so I imagine the smaller ones will be just fine then.  We laughed when you said you were getting ready to go camping.  It actually made us jealous!  Living in Montana we have a short summer season so we camp and travel as much as we can during about a 2 to 3 month period then dream of the next year when we can do it again.  Have a wonderful time!

My husband loves hollandaise sauce on his eggs and veggies.  So,  I decided to make it without package since it has potato in it.  I found a recipe on line and adapted it to LDL.  Instead of 1/2 cup butter I put in 2 T. ICBIB w/ 1/4 cup butterbeans blended with 1/8 cup water to thin.  I then put the butter and beans in sauce pan and heated.  I added 1/4t.garlic powder, 1/4 t onion powder, salt & pepper to taste.  I stirred until just before boiling and slowly added 3 egg yolks with lemon juice.  I stirred on low heat until it thickened.  I have to work with it a little but it was great.  I added just a little too much lemon juice.

B:  Refried Beans w/ hollandaise sauce & 1 egg
L:  BB's Marmelade Chicken
    Butterbean Potatoes w/ sourcream
    Green beans
D:  LDL Lime Sherbert
    Popcorn

Mike's Day:
B:  2 Corn Thins w/ spinach dip
Refried Beans w/ hollandaise sauce & 1 egg
L:  BB's Marmelade Chicken
    Butterbean Potatoes w/ sourcream
    Green Beans
D:  LDL Lime Sherbert
    Popcorn

Oh Boy!  I got so busy today cooking and trying to work at the same time I let my bean soup run out of water.  It scorched the beans and now I have to figure out how to get the burned spots out of bottom of pan.  I am sure someone else must have done this also and has a miracle way of removing burned on beans.

I Made BB's Marmelade Chicken with the Mandarin Oranges on top.  It was the best!  I love these recipes that are on these pages and in the red book. Yum!

wendysgoodnews wrote:thank you for all the encouragement.  I finally bought some grapes at over $3.00 a lb today so I could try them frozen.  I would have never have dreamed I would have spent that kind of money on fruit.LOL
I see we can eat all the corn we want but when I looked at my can of corn it has sugar in it.  Do we just eat frozen corn?
I was going to buy watermellon today and living in Montana that was kinda a laughing matter.  The store lady said not only do not have watermellon until spring but we won't find it in any other store in town either.  So we bought a cantalope which is my least favorite of  the two.
I have still been suffering today with a headache but my stomach is feeling much better today.
We went into Missoula today but I was afraid to eat out so we took an apple with us.  I tried to make it a quick trip so we could eat lunch before we left and when Mike got off work head into town and be back in time for dinner.  I was really feeling weak by the time we got home so my sweet husband fixed us a beautiufl salad.
I keep thinking if I eat to many beans I will get so sick of them I won't want to eat them.  I am writing down recipes to try to have variety in cooking the beans.

Hi there,
We live in Mt as well, but we have watermelon in our stores, I haven't had that problem here in Kalispell, you'd think Missoula would have better choices than we do!! Have you tried the whole foods market? I can't think of the name, but
they have a lot of wonderful choices there in Missoula!!!

Hello
I love the Kalispell area.  I lived in Whitefish for many years and that is where my husband and I met almost 25 years ago.
I haven't shopped at The Good Food Store yet.  I usually go to Costco or Wal Mart when I am in Missoula because I can ride a cart.
I need Knee surgery and I have put it off all summer but I can only walk short distances and I don't think they have carts.  My wonderful
husband has been so kind as to do our shopping for us here in Hamilton.  I am hoping in the next week or so to go to Missoula then I will try
to walk around as much as I can.  If I can't my husband and his cell phone will have to do our shopping for us.  Missoula may have watermelon
but I haven't tried there yet.  Have a Blessed Thanksgiving

Wendy- What I do that usually removes scorched foods from the bottom of pans is to clean the pan as much as possible, then add a cup or so of water and about 3 Tablespoons of baking soda.  Place back on the stove and bring to a nice boil.  Turn off and let sit for a couple of hours or overnight.  That should loosen the stubborn burned beans or whatever.  Good luck.  Pam

Thanks for your advice worked like a charm.  I will be making another pot of soup today but will put the timer on so I don't forget again.
My body has adjusted to all the beans we eat and I feel so good with lots of energy.  This is truely the first morning I woke up feeling thinner.  My stomach is getting flat and my hips are getting less plump.  But the very best thing is for the last 2 years I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring and when I tried it on this morning it fit.  A little snug yet but I was able to get it on.  A miracle!

I talked to my mom yesterday and she is starving herself to try to lose weight.  I have been telling her about all the wonderful meals I have been making and eating.  She told me yesterday that it seems we are eating an awful lot of fattening food and couldn't possibly be losing weight.  I can't wait until this spring when we go to Idaho for a visit because I know I will be way down by then and will be able to surprise her.  Thank You Jesus for leading us to such a wonderful way of eating where we don't have to continue to try to starve the pounds off!

Wendy, You are so right.  We get to eat real food and lose.  Being able to wear your ring is awesome news.  I have trouble getting through to some friends that it is so easy to lose.  They want to focus on not having sweets.  Each his own.  If some want to starve, let them.  My energy  level is as if I have stepped back to ten years ago or more.  CQ had an interesting article about sugar aging one more than smoking .  That surprised me, but then I thought about myself.  All I can do is to be thankful to my heavenly Father for creating such wonderful fruits and vegatables and for allowing Roger the insight so we all can have success.  :D :D Joyful Friend

Congratulations on getting your wedding rings on.  Before starting LDL I thought I was going to have to have mine cut off because it was getting so tight and I couldn't come close to getting it off.  You made me think so I tried mine just now and I was able to get it over the knuckle.  I haven't had it all the way off since my husband put it on me 23 years ago.  Keep up the GREAT work.

Thank you.  It felt so good to be able to get it on.  It was still snug but at least it went on.  I am still having some trouble with swelling during the day so I can't wear it yet but it is certainly close.

I got busy and had trouble finding time for breakfast this morning.  I realized about 11:30 that I was just starting to get hungry.  I made the Pizza soup in the crock pot today and got busy doing other things while I was making it and forgot I wasn't making Chili Bean Soup. I ended up putting Chili Powder in it so that Chili it will be.
I hope some one has some good advice on how to cut and peel those Squash.  It was a little larger then a butternut so I am not sure what kind it was but it was a bugger to peel.

B:  Refried Beans, 2 eggs, 2 slices cheese
L:  1/2 Chef Salad from Papa Murphys w/ ff Ranch & ff Thousand Island
D:  Chili Bean Soup
    Dish of Raspberries

Mike's Day:

B:  3 Rye Wasa Crackers w/ Honey
L:  Mixed Bean Soup
D:  Chili Bean Soup
    Butternut Squash Casserole

Mike said the Butternut Squash Casserole was the best.  I added a bit of extra spice.  I was wondering if anyone has tried banana mixed in with squash & apple as the sweetener.  I hate using splenda and the artificial sweeteners on things.  I think I will try it with the leftovers and will let you know how it goes.  I am not a squash eater so Mike will have to be the guinea pig.

Talking about rings....  Does anyone know an inexpensive and reversible way to make a ring smaller?  I am afraid I'm going to lose mine, but it won't fit my middle finger.  My husband suggested wrapping it with duct tape, now that's a great idea !  My rings are 10s, and I'm probably an 8.5 or 9 now, but I'll end up about a 7 at my goal, so I don't want to pay twice or 3 times to resize as I shrink toward my goal weight.  I tried the clear plastic adapter (like a slice of tubing, but that got tangled in my thread and fabric.  Pam
