Re: Nephew needs prayer
I was going to post more in my last post, but my attention was needed at home and I had to get off the computer.
The doctor tried to take Mac off the respirator yesterday, but it didn't work out. When we visited him on Friday night he was trying to lift his arm and open his eyes, so we left. He needs to stay calm and not aggitated, to rest his heart. I haven't heard anything today, but we are hoping he'll be off the respirator in the next couple of days. His cousin's boyfriend taped the Super Bowl for him to see when his heart is stronger. Can you imagine how happy he'll be to hear that the Saints won the Super Bowl?
Wow, we are still amazed that the Saints won the Super Bowl. You have to understand that we have gone through many losing seasons with the Saints. We had season tickets in the early years for a good many years. My mom said she never saw them win. They would be winning and by the time she and dad made it to the car (to try to beat the traffic) they lost the game. They did that a lot -- lose the game in the 4th quarter. I heard yesterday that they didn't having a winning season in the first 21 years of the franchise. Still, the fans were faithful. So, in a lot of people's minds the Saints were losers and always would be losers. I woke up this morning and joked with my husband, "You know what I dreamed last night? That the Saints won the Super Bowl!" Oh, last night after the game was over, we went across the street to scream "Who Dat!" outside my neighbor's door who was pulling for the Colts. (He never pulls for the Saints or LSU.) His wife pulls for the local teams, though. Anyway, it was the coolest thing. You could hear people rejoicing all around. Fireworks were going off too. Car horns were being blown. It is just such an uplifting thing to our state.

My husband told me that it seems Mac is over the worst part. We are believing the best.

Re: Nephew needs prayer
Well, Mac was taken off the respirator, but then he was put back on. They are having trouble getting him off some meds because of withdrawal. He was given some potent stuff, of course. We are still praying for complete healing. We might go to see him tomorrow, if we can get a sitter for Mom.
My husband is now playing guitar at church again. Electric was easier than acoustic, but he played acoustic with little trouble on Wed. night and did very well. He told me that he has learned to use his other fingers better because he couldn't use his ring finger so well. I think he sees it as making him a better player, so that is so good. I'm sure the ring finger and pinkie are still a little tender, but overall they are healed up. My foot is better too. I could wear my heels to church on Sunday. (Of course I wore my new fleur de lys shirt http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes ... html on Sunday too! How about those Saints!? Oh, if you want to order a shirt like the one I got, so cute!, realize that they run small. I had to order a medium, and usually wear smalls now that LDL changed my size! The fleur de lys is made up of the words to "When the Saints Go Marching In" -- really cute!)
I'll keep you posted after I get more news on Mac.

Great news! Mac is using a walker and was possibly going home today! He won't be able to participate in athletics anymore, but he won't need a heart transplant. Thank You, Jesus, for answered prayer. Thank you to everyone who has been praying and believing with us for Mac.

Re: Nephew needs prayer
Oh, and I know this isn't the same topic, but many of you know that I care for my mom. Well, I am just so excited with the breakthrough we have experienced this week. It is as though my mom has come out of a deep fog. I started giving her CoQH (ubiquinol) -- which is the reduced form of CoQ10 that I first read about on Dr. Mercola's website. I guess she's been taking it for 2 or 3 weeks. Well, I noticed on Monday that she was laughing like she used to. I hadn't heard her laugh like that in so long. Then I remembered on Sunday seeing her in her room kind of sad and I asked her if she was ok, and she said, "I'm a little melancholy thinking about your dad." It was Valentine's Day. Even though she was sad, I realized she was starting to feel things again and that is a good thing. She has gotten her personality back. It is as though this other lady has been living with us for over a year -- she took Mom's place -- and Mom has returned home to us.
Oh, I am so thankful to Jesus. I asked Him to guide me in finding something to help her. Just like He guided me to LDL to lose my excess weight, He guided me to that Dr. Mercola article that made me decide to try the CoQH and now my mom is back. I just can't quite express how awesome this is, but you can probably imagine how I feel. We went out to eat tonight with my husband's kids in BR to celebrate his birthday which was yesterday. We got the sitter we normally get and she said that she is most definitely different -- her old self. It was good to know someone else could see it too and it isn't just my wishful thinking. This makes me more happy than you can imagine.

Re: Nephew needs prayer
crickadoodle,
I'm so happy for both Mac and your Mother. I know in my heart that if we truly believe God can help, he will. Too many of us today try to go it alone because we feel that since the Bible was written over 2000 years ago that miracles don't happen anymore. That couldn't be further from the truth. Angels still appear to us today. My husband and I have seen them and they have saved us both from terrible car accidents. I actually thought I was going crazy the first time it happened until I confided what I had seen to one of the nuns at a Catholic hospital that I was working at. My husband later told me about his encounters. It still sends shivers down my spine when I think about it, but, at the same time, I know it's because God loves us and wants to protect us from harm.
Give Mac and your mom a hug for all of us.
