Re: Wendysgoodnews 1st day to Weight Loss

Post by wendysgoodnews »

I have been cooking beans all day trying to get ahead on them again and toss some in the freezer.  I am making Pizza Soup for tonights Bible study so all the people I have been talking to about LDL will know how good the soups are.  I made the wonderslaw yesterday with left over stirfry I had cut up ahead and taken to Idaho.  I had a variety of celery, onion, cabbage and water chestnuts in the bag.  It tasted wonderful with the sweet and sour type sauce of the wonderslaw.

B:  Orange, strawberry& banana smoothie
L:  Wonderslaw
D:  Pizza Soup
    Fresh fruit

I noticed in another thread that you were wondering about how to do fish differently. I saw in the question and answer section that SweetRose said fish is very good coated with gabzanzo bean flour.

I have been playing around with different foods, especially at night to see what helps in weight loss and what stops or slows weight loss.  I have found veggies and fruit eaten in large quanities at night makes me lose more weight then just eating fruit or popcorn.

Since starting this way of eating I have twice ate stir fry for dinner and both times been down 3 lbs over night.  I am not sure why this is but decided to test it last night.  I have in the 2 days before this been down 1 lb each morning so I was excited to see what this morning brought.  Sure enough I was down 3 lbs this morning.  I ate 2 large plates of wonderslaw last night plus a large bowl of pie.  I got busy so I even ate really late compared to what I normally do.  I am not saying if I eat stir frys or wonderslaw everynight I would be down that much everyday but I figure it is worth trying once a week or so. If I can continue to lose this much I will be to my second goal really quickly.

You will just love this salad.  It can even have other veggies added to it, I added celery and waterchestnuts the other night and it was great.
I never did put it under the recipe section.  Where did you find it?  I know I put it on my journal so is it anywhere else or do I need to list it?

Bet you could use Jicama in place of the waterchestnuts.

Mary J,

The onion dressing is from CQ and I believe Wendy has used it on her Wonderslaw.

Here is the recipe:  http://boards.letsdolunch.com/boards/in ... on=search2

Wendy,

Doesn't that make just the best smoothie ever?  It's one of my favorites.  I also like orange smoothies.  I'll have to try to come up with a recipe for that as well.

Blessings,
Sylvia

Have you tried the Dreamy Creamy smoothie.  It calls for 1 cup orange juice, banana, vanilla extract and ice cubes to thicken it.  I actually use frozen orange juice.  It is my other favorite smoothie.  If it gets too thick I add grapefruit juice to it and that gives it a different taste that I love.

Wendy,

Are you a dog groomer?  It sure takes a talent, and a love of dogs, to be a groomer.  My little Abby, who is a c o c k e r spaniel goes to our groomer this morning.  I just love it when she comes home smelling sweet and looking so pretty!!

P.S.  Does the cocounut extract have sugar in it?  If not, I am going to try it in my next orange smoothie because I love coconut.

No I just clip my dogs.  I used to pay to have 4 dogs done and one day I thought I can do that.  So I got on the internet and saw by video and teaching how to clip a schnauzer like a professional.  It is a challenge but to me it is a joy to see how wonderful they look when I am all finished.  I have done a few dogs for friends but I try to stick just to my dogs.
One of the dogs I did yesterday is a 3 month old papered pure white male schnauzer that we took in when someone couldn't keep him.  I wanted to clip him so he can find a good home.

The coconut extract doesn't have sugar in it.  It does have alcohol like the regular vanilla does.  I am hooked on these with the coconut, they taste so rich.  There was also a recipe for strawberries to be added instead of orange.  I haven't tried that yet but I will one day soon.

Oh my new meal I tried today was so delicious I am putting it here and on the main meal recipes.
I couldn't find SF Plum preserves so when I make it again I am going to try buying plums and cooking them down with sugar substitute and see if that will work.  I used Blackberry SF jam and it worked wonderful with the chicken.

Plum Marinated Chicken & Honey Carrots

4 Chicken Breasts
1 C. Plum, Blueberry or Blackberry Preserves
2 Tbs reduced Sodium Soy Sauce
1 Tbs Red Wine Vinegar
1 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar
2 tsp. Fresh Grated Ginger
2 Garlic Cloves - minced

Place chicken in glass baking dish - sprinkle with salt and pepper
In a bowl mix all ingred. - pour over chicken.
Bake 375 for 45 min.

Add carrots to dish:
Peel and cut in slices -
In a bowl mix:
2 Tbs Honey
1 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar
Mix well with carrots  - put in beside chicken and cook until soft
