Gwen -- the Holy Spirit really is the Comforter and I know you are experiencing that comfort right now. You are in all of our prayers. I know this has been a very hard battle for you. Rest and trust and let others care for you right now. We love you.

My prayers are with you through this loss, Gwen!
A friend who shared a similar experience not long ago called this a tragic relief -- a relief that there is no more pain and suffering, and Neil is resting safely in the arms of Jesus, but a tragic loss for you. Remember the best of times.
We love you
Terri

Dear Gwen,
We are Ssoooo so very sorry for your loss...Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
With all our Love,
Rita & Steve
("ritaroo" & "SteveM")
p.s... This is my first posting on LDL message boards. I've been "lurking" in the background for months---reading and staying inspired by all these awesome folks on LDL; as well as, trying to keep up with everyones LDL life experiences. After awhile, we've become one BIG family of LDL sisters and brothers.
Gwennaford, when I read your post about your Neil - I was soooo saddened by your loss, that it moved me to post a message to you here and on the guest book at Eternal Rest...
May Gods Blessings and Comfort, strengthen the hearts of you and your family, today and in the days ahead.

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Gwen,
I've been putting this post off as long as I could. I just wish that I could take you in my arms and give you big hug and make things better but I know that I can't.
Just remember what my father use to tell me....we should never cry for the dead because they've gone home to be with the Lord. We should cry for the newborns that have to deal with life here on Earth.
Neil is happy now and not having to deal with all the pain and suffering that he had to deal with here.
Maybe if you're up to it we can get together at the Jazz Festival next month.

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Hi All,
Here is a note from Gwen:
Hi Kris. Thank you for checking in. Your love and hugs are very welcome.
I'm doing well. Neil's funeral was Tuesday. All 5 of his & my kids and their families were able to make it. It was a blessed and emotional service that was very well attended. I got to spend time with all 4 grandchildren. The outpouring of love continues. Cards, letters, flowers, emails, sinful FOOD and good fellowship that are all part of the joy of celebrating a Homecoming. The minister where we were married er years ago conducted the funeral. Neil was entombed, according to his wishes. A tiny little neighborhood cemetery is his final resting place. Making the funeral arrangements was far more traumatic than his death. Thank the Almighty that HE was in control of the proceedings. I had a mini nervous breakdown and the kids had to take over for a day. They did a wonderful job. I feel comfortable that everything happened the way it was supposed to.
Neil never never gave up. He did not want to die and leave me alone. But I believe the Lord spoke to him t the end, and at last convinced Neil that he had done a good job in life and it was time to let me go so that I can get on with what HE has planned for me.
So I am looking forward to the future with some trepidation, but a great deal of peace that The Lord remains on His throne and will continue to guide and direct my path.
I can also say with great conviction that this week of bad eating has made me so sick of "worldly" food that cannot wait to resume my LDL "manna". The beans are soaking now!
Kris, please do me the favor of posting this on my journal page, along with my love and gratitude to my faithful LDL friends.
Loves,
Gwennaford

Re: Gwennaford's Journal
Gwen, I know God is far from finished with you and He has great plans for you. As it says in His word -- plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Rest in His love and be blessed in all the help others are offering to you.
