I had the nicest surprise today.  My younger son decided to run home from college and surprise me for mothers day.  It was so sweet and he even went with me to the nurseries to pick out my flowers(one of his least favorite things) so he could carry them for me.

B:  Chili Omelet
L:  BBQ Steak
    Green Salad w/ ranch
D:  Rest of my Green Salad

wendysgoodnews wrote:Thanks Pat I have suffered for years with back and knee.  I decided to get brave and see what I can do to aleviate pain along with weight.  I want to be able to exercise and hopefully now I will be able to.  I have tried a small amount of exercise but I want to be able to walk again down the road and be able to make it back home.
I love this way of eating, with all the variety there is no way to get bored with it.  This is the 1st time ever that I am happy with the way I feel and how fast I am losing weight after 6 months on any diet.  I know this isn't a diet it is a life time way to eat myself healthy and skinny what could be better then that!

So very true.  Congrats on a great weight loss!  Love those yummy recipes of yours.  What brand of coconut flavoring do you use?  I've been wanting the taste of a pina colada but know that anything made with real coconut is a no-no.

The coconut flavoring I purchased was from Wal Mart.  I plan on going to the Good Food Store which is a health food store and see what they have for coconut.  The flavoring from Wal Mart has artifical flavorings in it but since I only use 5 or 6 drops I haven't been in too big a hurry to pick up more.

I could not find anything in the Health Food Center here. Ended up getting what you got at Wal-Mart. Could not find anything on line either.

I didn't get a chance to check at the Good Food Store today but will take the time to check next time I go.  The Good Food Store is an Organic grocery store with a health food store in the center of it.

I took my friend Mary to Missoula today to shop before she has surgery tomorrow.  Please be praying for Mary, she is having her breast removed tomorrow because of cancer.  The doctors told her they are pretty sure it is in her lymph nodes also.

B:  Chili Omelet
    Fuji Apple
L:  Applebees Ribletts
    5 onion rings
    Cole Slaw
D:  Strawberries
    Watermelon
    Kiwi
    Popcorn

Wendy,
Prayers are headed your way. My mother in-law has been battling breast cancer for a year now with good results. It also was in her lymph's but appears to be in remission right now. Gods healing power is so wonderful!!

Thought and prayers are with you for your friend and you also.  It's tough when a friend is hurting and you feel helpless.  Just keep the faith. My father was given a year to live with cancer and lived 20 years.  It is in God's hands.

Thanks for all the prayer for Mary.  She is doing well and was released after 1 day in the hospital because of insurance requirements.  A friend has taken her in and will care for her until she can go home.

The chili omelet:

Make a flat egg omelet by beating 2 or 3 eggs with water, cook until fully cooked.
For the chili I use home made or canned which ever I have
I put chili on 1/2 of flat egg and add a bit of cheese and onion then fold in half
I cook until chili is heated and then eat.  I have on occation put a dab of sour cream on top.
Especially on days like today when I have to get up so early and be gone all day I have to have something more then fruit for breakfast or I can't make it until lunch.  This is filling and I have been still losing weight eating it.

i went to Missoula for the day so ate a large breakfast since I knew we would be late eating again.  I still have a terrible cold and have been eating cough drops all day and taking NyQuil at night so I can sleep.  I haven't gained any weight doing this but I haven't lost either so hopefully by next weigh in I will be off these cold items.

I checked out the coconut flavoring at the Good Food Store today.  It is made with agave syrup and coconut milk so that one is out.

I can't believe the insurance would make her be release the day after such a hugh surgery.  We definitely need to overhaul our insurance if that is what they are doing to people after such major surgery.  Thank goodness she has a good friend.

dinker,

You can thank Harvard University that developed the DRG payment system for Medicare for that...not the insurance companies. They just followed suit.

I was just horrified when the doctor told her she had to leave the next day.  To make it worse my friend is 86 yrs old so their is no way she could have gone home and gotten by.  Praise God she is doing very well and getting good care from friends.
